285/40-18's in Front?

Will 285/40-18's fit in the front? I know that Roush's come with 275/40-18's all around but the 285's are an exact match in overall diameter to the stock tire whereas 275's are somewhat smaller and leave a little more tire-to-fender gap. My car is lowered about 1.25 inches.

They will fit even lowered as long as your wheels are the proper offset.

Now that's odd. My own search on the TireRack site only resulted in 5 returns. Thanks for this.

They will most likely rub when close to full lock. I have FRPP springs with 275/40/18's up front and they very slightly rub when the steering wheel is close to full lock.

285 is asinine for the front imo. A Porsche 997 Turbo has 305 in back, 235 in front and has world class handling, and weighs about the same as a Mustang GT.

well all i can tell you from driving on both, is the 285s up front make a huge difference in handling, i cant lower my car so i need as much handling help as i can get. looks 10 times better then any other setup i have seen too.

Like I said, 275's up front slightly rub the rub inner plastic fender under full lock. You only use full lock when parking or at slow speeds so it's not a big deal. Adding 10mm more width up front might cause rubbing during aggressive driving.

Pics? My wallet feels a little too thick lately and I'm again (still) thinking about new wheels.

If 285's are asinine, I must be crazy. I run 295's in front......and the camaro drivers still laugh at how narrow they are. You really can't compare tire widths between rear engine and front engine cars.

How much camber are you guys able to run with this setup? I'm assuming 10" wheels up front (17"?). How much clearance is there between the tire and strut?

I'd like to run 275's to 295's on all four corners and still be able to get -2 degrees using the Steeda billet adjusters, then use camber plates to get any additional camber needed for events.

I am running Roush 18 X 10's with 275/40 RE050A Pole Positions all around. My alignment for the street is -1.3 camber, 7.2 caster, and .03 toe'd in. I am also running FRPP springs, which lower the car roughly 1.5". My tires rub the inner plastic fender near the brake like fitting under full lock. It's not a big deal and I just need to cut some of it away and the problem will be gone. I can take pictures of the clearance and where it's rubbing on Monday.
