Pypes H-Pipe with Flowmasters (VIDEOS)
We just did a customers car with UPR off road X-pipe and Pypes Street pro axle back. If you like a little bit of sound to it, it's amazing. Suprisingly enough, inside the car there is VERY LITTLE resonance! Amazing combo!
I heard this combo in person at Brenspeed last November and I still remember thinking that it sounded pretty good. The trumpeting caused by the offroad pipe just ruins it though in my opinion- not just with the Flows, but with almost any muffler. I had stainless Bassani's and loved them; then I added the offroad H and liked the additional power, but hated the trumpeting. I was so mad that I was going to go with the side exhaust kit from Cervini's, but ended up buying Corsas instead. The Corsas have very little trumpeting only at certain engine loads and have no drone. Here's a video of my setup
I had the Pypes O/R H on with my JBA's, sound fairlly similar to Trooper's setup. I'm one of the ones who took them off, still for sale, as you can see in my signature.
Goods:
Loud, sound mean, can scare young children
6rwhp, dyno checked and no retune required
Cheap for 6hp
Watching peoples heads snap around when you start it up
Others:
Loud, neighbors hate me, long road trips a pain
Stunk, with no cats, everytime I backed into the garage was nasty
Trumpeting, just couldn't get over the annoying trumpets
Raspy, not as bad as some X's I've heard, but still raspy
Overall the Pypes H was just too harsh for me. Instead of people saying, "You're car sounds good!", they would say "what's wrong with it?", "wow, that's loud!", and "what did you do to it?"(with a scowl). The car just wasn't as pleasant to drive as it was before. A tough call, but I went back to civil over loud and nasty. It just seemed to make the car feel... cheaper, older, and less refined, kind of hard to explain. Almost like the exhaust was old and rusted and needed fixing. Most every vehicle I've had has been really loud, and I choose to keep this one a little more refined.
Though I would like it to sound like an old school big block with cam and long tube headers, so how refined is that?!

I went with the the off road pipe and Borla's and the trumpets were really bad to me. Way too much for what I could live with. But I put on resonators after the H pipe and the trumpets are gone, gone, gone!
It use to drive me nuts!!!
But not anymore.

Here's one with the Pypes O/R and JBA. I'ts so loud, it' moves the camera I had sitting on a box, and it's not getting hit by the air because it's over to the side. Car is dirty
