prochamber, X pipe, H pipe

Ok I know the visual differences between the three, I don't think one offers much more power than the other. I'm just wondering if they each have a different sound. I'm leaning towards the MAC prochamber without cats. If anyone has any input on the installation and sound of it I'd appreciate it.

H-pipe will give you a rumble that will mimic the classic muscle car sound. An x-pipe will give you a nice bassy idle, but the tone changes as the revs climb, so does the pitch. Also, some x-pipes can have a raspy sound to them. The pro-chamber (catted) would be my personal choice should I ever change the mid-pipe in my 05. A buddy of recently put an off-road pro-chamber on his 96GT, with Magnaflow MagnaPacks. The sound is unreal. Deep, throaty, no raspyness, and loud.

They do no have the catted version listed. The off-road is listed at $420.00, approx $30 cheaper than MAC's site. But I am interseted in finding out what the catted version would cost at partshopper if they ever list it.

I talked to Chuck on Friday and he is going to list the catted prochamber for 449.99. My longtubes should be here tomorrow and MAC has the prochamber ready to roll. Keep in mind the good thing about this set up is that the catted version can also be purchased with staight through "legs". This way you can swap the cats on and off the exhaust at your discretion. This is nice in case you want to run cats for daily driving and then switch to the other legs for the track
I hope to have a full install and dyno of the longtubes w/the catted prochamber in the next week or so....
