Thumbs down

DiabloSport has just released the new r17 Release Revision. Custom Tunes for the U7140 are once again available online. Just installed r17 Release Revision and the latest C&L CAI Custom Tune. Then modified rear axle ratio parameter just to make sure the new DS Downloader version 1,2,6,0 was working properly. All "seems" well. Reset axle ratio for factory 3.31 gears as the new 4.10s won't be installed until tomorrow. Will post dyno results tomorrow evening.

Thanks for the update!
I will be installing both tonight, hopefully all goes well. Nice to see the website updated again, hopefully this will end any confusion folks have been having with the different revisions and tunes.

Thanks,

I used the same tune he sent me last Thursday. He said it is the same C&L CAI Custom Tune that is now available for download from DiabloSport's website.

Can't wait for the 4.10 gears and dyno results.

My C&L CAI and Predator arrived today. After some calls, I finally got the r17 software loaded, found the new C&L tune on the predator website, started reading the directions for installing the kit, and realized I had a full tank of 87 octane, and needed to wait 3-4 days before I can fill with premium. darn, the wait will kill me...

Do they no longer have the 87 octane tune?

Do they no longer have the 87 octane tune?
The new C&L file I just got for the generic Mustang GT Predator has just two tunes--the 91 and 93 octane tunes. However, I was told the 91 octane tune would run just fine on 87 octane by Diablosport tech support. However, the C&L support guy said the best approach is to install the premium tune, then knock back the timing -4 or 5 degrees (I THINK). I think the 91 octane tune only subtracts 2 degrees.

I'm going to mod the C&L performance tune for 87, so I'll post how well it works.

I take it back. I went ahead and filled up with 93 octane, and used the performance tune. I'm not happy--the car doesn't feel that much different to me. I'm not sure the r18 update does anything with the latest tune, but I have nothing to lose except the 10 minutes to reset back to factory, then update the Predator all over again and try once more. Man I'm bummed...

Hi,
Just to clarify, did you use the C&L CAI tune or the regular Diablo 93 octane performance tune? I have had good luck with the r18 revision and the latest posted C&L CAI tune, adjusting for 91 octane. Hope you are able to resolve your problem.

I have 93 octane fuel in the tank, the Diablosport r17 software update, and the latest 93 octane C&L tune.

To cut to the chase on the matter, I'm going to:

1. Reflash the car back to factory.
2. Download the r18 into the Predator.
3. Download the C&L tune file to the Predator.
4. Flash the car to the C&L performance tune.

If the results aren't what I expect, I'll reflash to factory, then try the 91 octane tune. Have nothing to lose at this point.

Hi,
I have learned through my own bad experience the following:
- Make sure only your new revision crom file and your original back up are in a folder called "ori files" within the Diablo folder on your hard drive.
-When you place the newest tune in that same folder, try a "fresh" version of it. Not the one you have been trying. And also make sure at that point that the tune and the original backup files are the only ones in the ori folder. Cole @ Diablo helped me out a lot, and these steps worked for me. Hope this helps.
