Guys,

I want some advice on what kind of mods to do before getting BLOWN! I plan on insalling a S/C in a few months (Kenn Bell or Vortech), so I don't want to spend money on mods that will have to be removed anyway, like a CAI or Pulleys, etc. I'm getting some Magnaflows tonight. What should be next on my list? Gears and a tune?

Input appreciated.

My suggestion would be to decide on the blower(which brand or style) first because they have different characteristics. Then I would look at supportig mods. A good exhaust will hurt neither. Thats probably all I would do. I'd wait on the gear choice till I decided on the blower for sure.

Thanks Mike

On an SC car I would stick with the gears you have if you plan on driving it frequently.Tune not required now becuase it will come with the kit as will the air intake kit.Exhaust will be a good upgrade though and that would be about it

ditto, a good exhaust will help. Also a larger TB will help it breathe a little easier.
Here's an article with the Procharger on an 05:

2005 Procharger Install

And one on supercharger types in general:

Choosing a Supercharger

Good luck and keep us posted

By the way the latest issue of MM&FF has an article about a KB blower install

I've noticed that most SC units come with their own CAI type system. However, the Saleen unit does not. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea if a CAI would help the Saleen until pull in more air or if it would just be a waste of time. I really like the looks of some of the CAI units that I've seen, and am thinking about doing that because I'm not sure how long it will be before (or if) I add a blower (Saleen). Would it be worth my money to do something like that and leave it on, or would i have to remove it when(if) the SC is installed?

I would go with shorties if you're going with a SC... I think youll see better results that way. Longtubes tend to learn towards N/A in my experience.
