Possible to lube throwout bearing?

I was reading a thread on Stangnet and they mentioned lubricating the TOB on a 99-04 GT with the 5-speed manual.

Do we have to lube the TOB on our 3650s? Is it even possible to access it from outside the transmission, or do we need to drop the transmission?

Impossible to lube it from outside the car/tranny etc.. it would have to be pulled... but then you might as well replace it. To my knowledge you don't lube them other than a little to assist in the install.

You must mean a clutch fork, right? You need a throwout bearing to disengage the spinning clutch whether its direct hyd. or clutch fork. You just can't push against the fingers with a static pad.

According to the manual, the clutch release bearing (sometimes referred to as the throwout bearing) and the slave cylinder are part of one unit (part # 7A508). It appears that the unit is not serviceable and must be replaced when faulty.

+1 It is a combination throwout bearing and slave cylinder. Impossible to lube it, and doesn't need any lube to install it. To install it, it bolts up with two 10 mm screws directly to the tranny. Expensive little sucker at $180 from the stealership. I went ahead and changed mine out when I changed out the clutch since the pressure plate is heavy duty and would put some extra force on it.
