Plenum cover/shock tower brace combo with JET throttle body spacer???

Hi all,

Christmas is coming and I want to get some new mods for my baby . I'd really like to get a plenum cover and shock tower brace for my '06 vert, but I already have a JET throttle body spacer installed.

I read that the Ford plenum cover won't work with the TBS unless you cut the cover (no thanks) . Is there any other combination of plenum covers/shock tower braces that will work the the TBS and won't rub against each other and the padding on the hood? I did several searches and didn't find any info on a combo that would work together.

Appreciate the help!

I don't really want to get into the whole does the TBS make any difference discussion...

Let's just say it's already on the car, and it definitely helps performance more than the plenum cover will.

I didn't mean to be sensitive at all. I've just seen people become very animated about the JET TBS, and I really didn't want to lose the focus of the thread. I'm just hoping someone has experience with a plenum cover that will work with the JET TBS...

the only plenum cover that works with a JET T/B Spacer is the midwest auto gear covers.

as for a STB that will clear them, Strange Developments STB

Some mods required...

Here's a pic of mine... TB spacer could be problem but you might be able to just cut the tabs that hold the cover to the TB and use the fuel rail studs to hold the cover tight to the intake like I did....
Normally the covers just go over the fuel rail studs. If you remove the studs and than reinstall them using them to bolt down the cover it sits much tighter to the intake. Still wasn't enough for me so I had to have some custom work done to the BMR and scallop out a section and fill it back in, and have it re powdercoated....

Yes it was a pain, No I don't need either of them but I think the results are pretty **** nice...

I have the Steeda spacer and I am currently working with someone to machine the spacer for the plenum cover to slip into. Once I get this done I will do a write up on it with pics.
Everyone hold tight, we may be able to have our cake and eat it too .
I am sending parts off this week.

I've got a polished Strange STB for sale, it won't fit over the Kenne Bell. Great looking piece, clears the FRPP plenum cover, and a notable decrease in body flex.

I had a Jet TBS, took it off when I got the FRPP cover, wouldn't fit, and on the dyno, it gave 0 hp gain.

Im in a similar situation. I'm actually installing my billet steeda strut tower brace today. I emailed them ahead of time to see if there was any fitment issues and they assured me there wasnt so hopefully that works out fine. I know you can get a bit of space by mounting the spacers for the intake ontop of the mounting points which should give you a bit more clearance under the strut tower brace. As for the throttle body spacer the only thing I can recommend is either cutting the plenum cover or purchasing an aftermarket one which doesnt mount to the front of the throttle body. This will allow you to use a TBS. Heres a link to a to a stock looking plenum cover but it doesnt have that front bit and the price isnt too bad either
