Hi everyone, I'd like an input from the members to help me make a decision.

Some parts im looking to get are from Rpmoutlet.com

Electric water pump 11Hp-$308
Plasma booster ign 12hp $255
Underdrive pullies from seanhyland 8hp - $170
4.10 Gears - $150 + install
BBK throttle body 8hp (15hp claim..) $299

Basically which mods do you think will really throw me ahead for E.Ts. And best bang for the buck.

If you could post your opinion in order of preferance? or comments.
How could the water pump add 11hp? How could the booster add 12hp? Do either of those mods give you the feel in difference/
4.10 gears are nice I hear, how much would that help E.T's? install cost? Car has 5k miles, do I need the install kit or new bearings? I should be fine right?
is that CNC throttle body for $479 really worth that?

Current mods are JBA shorty header
Diablo sport tuner
WMS ram air intake.

I'd like to know this also.

Specifically, how does an electric water pump add 10 hp? What exactly does it do?

Same with the Plasma booster ign, what the heck is that?

Thanks for the info.

Don't need the under drive pullies if you have an electric water pump they both free up hp from same source. I doubt the plasma booster would do any good. The under drive pullies cause the water pump and alternator to turn slower causeing less resistance/drag I would recommend the electric pump use the search button there was a lengthy and detailed discussion on the electric pump.

I'm going to guess that you would lose a lot of the gain of the underdrive pulleys if you also had an electric water pump...you are not going to achieve both HP gains. I have no clue what the plasma booster doohicky is...I'm skeptical of a 12 HP gain just because I think I would have heard more about it if it were true...but I could be wrong. I think the 4.10s are a good mod...you can do a search on "4.10" and read a lot of others experiences with them. The BBK TB is not available until some time in December, I think. It is good for a 16+HP boost according to MM&FF...27+ when coupled w/CAI.
My .02: go with the underdrive pulleys and 4.10s and then wait until the BBK TB comes out and more HP/TQ data is available. I see you have a Diablo tuner...maybe go with a custom tune if you haven't already???

Whoa whoa...so it's plausible to gain 11 hp from an electric water pump?? What does it do? How does it make those gains? What are the cons? I'd gladly pay $300 for 11 hp. I'm not a fan of underdrive pulleys, though.

It's not so much that the electric pump "makes" power...it "frees" is up. It takes HP to turn the pump, so if it is run by electric motor it's not pulling it from the engine. I dunno about 11 HP though???

Hmm, sounds kinda like what pulleys do. Are there negatives to having an electric water pump? Maybe it doesn't work as well as the stock one?

That I don't know...I would do the underdrive pulleys as opposed to the pump...JMO.

I debated this issue, whether to go with the Electric Water Pump or the Underdrive Pulleys. I have not seen too many people mention using the Electric Pump, but those who have seem to like them. There are tons of people using the Underdrive Pulleys, and I've not seen any negative comments there either.

I think the Electric Water Pump would be excellent in a car used primarily for racing, but I was a little hesitant on how well it would handle and hold up in everyday street driving over time.

I ended up going with the Underdrive Pulleys since they seem to be a more "proven" method of power gain at this time. However, so long as the electric unit is a quality piece, I don't think there would be any issue with it.

Best bang for you buck is gonna be the underdrive pullies. They make an honest 10 rwhp on the dyno. I've seen it myself. The throttle body is only going to give you 1-2 rwhp. Probably some imporoved throttle response but that's about it. If I were you with your current mods I would get the following mods in this order:

1. underdrive pullies
2. plasma booster
3. 4.10's
4. throttle body if you have the extra money

Supposibly the co. that makes these plasma boosters is out of business??? All the dealers have been trying to get in touch with them for months for updates, I called JBA and they said they have not heard from them in about 7-8 months. And with RPM Outlet advertising, the part# they have from JBA and another dealer, the part # is for a 99-04 Cobra, not an 05!
