Thumbs up

I just received my Plenum Cover painted to match my mineral gray mustang. The problem is the paint does not match the car. Does anyone have one painted the same as mine and does your paint match or has anyone had theirs painted to match the color of their car and is it the same color? Just looking for info. I have already complained to Midwest Composite Technologies. Waiting for their response

How noticeable is the difference? I have a MG car also, and have had my hood scoop and ducktail painted, as well as my trunk. Because it's a metallic paint, you can never really get a tru color match. Depending on what time of day it is painted, it may look different than something else painted at another time but with the same paint. Now since this is the plenum cover, and is not directly next to any other painted surface on your car, I think it should be fine. But, if it's not even close... you should be able to get another one.

Have MG but got the silver cover. The color does change depending on the the light. I would say it should come real close to matching the other MG painted parts in the engine area as one way to determine how the color (not finish) matches.

The paint in the engine bay is not clearcoated and this can make for a color difference. Does the intake cover paint match the exterior of the car that are clearcoated ... Eg hood and fenders?

Took some pics today to see what you guys think. It does not match the exterior of the car but does not look bad under the hood. Let me know what you think as they are willing to give me a full refund.

Just email them and tell them they sent the wrong color. I bought a red one from them and they were more than willing to correct the mix up.

That's definitely not even close. I'd send it back. Don't settle if that's not what you wanted.

I have e-mailed them the pictures I posted and waiting for them to reply. They had originally told me I could get a full refund if I did not like it. Hopefully it is just the wrong color that they sent me and will be an easy fix. Thanks for the input.

It looks fine to me... I would do something about that blue plastic wire loom though (at the passenger rear of the cover).

They have seen the picture and have said they think they sent the satin silver by mistake. They are sending a mineral gray out next week. Will let you know if paint match is any closer.
