My borther has a problem. He almost looses control when he hits 2nd gear (its a 5 speed) with his 05 gt. He almost hit the wall at the track tonight. The only thing he has on his car it the predator and c&l. The rest is stock. Are any of you guyes having the same problem? What can he do (besides tires and disableing traction control) to help?

Yeah, as Dustindu4 said, it seems you don't quite have the basics down...
And yes, traction control helps you a LOT with wheelspin (why do you think they call it "traction control" ?) therefore disableing it, it's NOT a good idea...
Son, you gotta go step by step: first learn to drive, then try racing. It's not the other way. You first learn to walk and then to run...
Good luck.

Also, mashing the pedal to the floor in every gear is not always the best thing to do. "Your brother" has to ease into the throttle to help control the wheel spin.

hmmmmm, that is an odd first post...anyway, why do I find this hard to believe. Seriously, I had more mods done on my car before going to different tires and rims and there is no way the rear end would kick out that much. Sure, with stock tires second gear would leave some rubber and would kick out to the side a little but definately not enough to force the car towards a wall.

Yes, an odd first post. And wheelspin isn't uncontrollable. Ease off the the throttle, and the wheels will stop spinning. I can spin all the way through 2nd gear on the track with stock tires, but only after the stock tires were too hot from multiple passes and out of their optimum operating range. But the rear has never kicked out near close enough to loose control of the vehicle.

Feather the throttle a little and leave traction control on if you HAVE too.

Other than not being a very good driver the only other thing that might cause such a problem would be a messed up limited slip rearend that is only driving with one wheel.

I too feel it is a lack of skill. Foot off gas no wheel spin. Right?
