And just who is going to enforce that? I'll pass smog a million times in my state with my longtubes. I could care less what a Federal Law says, if they're not going to actively enforce that law, it might as well not exist.

Game, Set, Match.

It's called reality. Your milage may vary.

Smog test exemption for new vehicles here is currently 4 years but is increasing to 7 years on Jan 1st.

No, axle-backs are not going to increase your MAX Hp/Tq very much if any, but they will help a little down low. Still, your better off shopping for sound with axle-backs, because the $$/HP ratio is not that great. I feel they made a difference off the line though and I LOVE the way they sound. Still the best money I have spent on my car for the “grin factor”.

The CMCV delete plates will get you most of the 15-20HP you are looking for. They are not a huge gain but the $$/HP ratio is very good. You can pick up a set for $80 - $100 and the install is simple.

Methanol/Water Injection (15 to 30 HP?). It is a great mod for forced air (Can add 50 to 80 HP with Turbo and Superchargers just due to cooling and stabilizing the octane levels) but it also works for normally aspirated cars as well. Check out Snow Performance for details, though there are other suppliers. I have a Methanol Water injection kit on my wish list and I plan on remaining normally aspirated.
