Question Which Oil?

A while ago 'skullzero' started a thread asking which oil members are using. I thought a poll was in order. So what are you using: Mobil 1, Royal Purple, Amsoil, or Other. If you would like to include a few reasons why you made your decision that may prove interesting as well.

I've used Mobil 1 since I was a teenager. My father swears by it, and those old frying pan commercials thoroughly convinced me as a kid.

I use nothing but Mobil 1 5w20, and have used Mobil 1 exclusively in all my cars during the past 15+ years. IMO Mobil 1 both cleans and protects your car's engine better than any other synthetic or conventional motor oil.

I began using it, as soon as I found out that GM recommends using Mobil 1 for the Corvette, which was close to 20 years ago.

That being said, if Mobil 1 is good enough for the Corvette. Then it's also good enough for my Mustangs.

I have been using Royal Purple for the past 5-6 oil changes. I don' have any problems with it. I would doubt if it would make any difference if I switched to something else. Oil, I believe is brand loyal.

OK, apologies in order. I did an advanced search for 'best oil' and read through the threads that seemed relevant...didn't see the poll (hangs head in shame). Oh well, I was actually quite enjoying the experience of watching my first poll in action!

OK, see above...'hangs head in shame!' Please, no more, I can't take it Still, this poll's generating a fair amount of interest! Maybe it's nice to get a fresh perspective, have people changed their minds? Different oil than before, let us know why!

Funny enough though the factory motor oil in my car makes the car quieter and smoother. As for performance, the motorcraft full synthetic is just as good as the mobil1 stuff.

That being said this time around both the oil and oil filter are mobil 1.

Sticking with the Mobil 1 Extended Performance in all our vehicles except for the BOSS which will be running on Brad Penn Grade 1 because this is a flat tappet engine and needs more ZDDP to survive. I also favor the Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil filters.
