For those of us who are somewhat mechanically inhibited (but learning), what exactly are cut-outs and how do they work?

It is basically a mechanism to divert exhaust gases out of the system prior to going through the rest of the exhaust piping. I posted a little description here: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?s=...ndpost&p=671565

thanks, man. I think I'm gonna go for the cats just for peace of mind. As far as cams, I'm looking into that, too. BTW, where in Cali are you? I'd LOVE to check out your ride once you got those cams in there!

I am in the boonies, 30 minutes north of Santa Barbara.

Cool. Hey, so how much do you think the hi-flo cats will affect the sound?

well, I love the sound of the SLP with the stock mid pipe. well ok, so I loved the sound with the O/R mid too, but it was too loud to drive as long as police continue patrol our streets. So I am hoping to keep the SLP with stock cats SOUND, only much louder, and with that stock car WOT that you get with the O/R H. I have a feeling it will still be too loud, becuase the cats are almost fist size, but if they are, I think I am going to get some cherry bombs or something, becuase I want to make my exhaust deeper. I have the volume I want, I just need to get it DEEP so it sounds mean with my cams. I will post before and after vids whenever I change anything.
