Octane boosters - do they work?
I was at Pepboys today and noticed these vials of "Octane Boosters".
Do those things actually work?
I live in CA and the highest octane normally available here is 91 which just blows.
Are these "octane boosters" harmful to your engine?

Do not use ANY off the shelf octane booster in your S197 Mustang! You will end up fowling your $85.00 spark plugs. If you need to increase your octane and improve the fuel burn, the only thing that I know of that truly works and will not ruin your plugs is Torco Mach Accelerator. This is a race fuel concentrate that turns pump gas into race fuel. It costs about $9.00 per 32oz can. 1/2 can (16oz) will turn a full tank (16 gal) of California 91 octane into a true 93.5 octane.
