I dig the new GT500 but like what has been said in almost all the replies modding the heck out of your S197 is where the enjoyment is. It's cool to buy a car that is a bad **** straight out of the box... but save that for when you are too old to enjoy working on your car.

Have you ever considered throwing the Ford Racing Cammer engine in your GT? Then slap a 5.0 Emblem on the side and you will be well on your way to making those GT500 owners tremble. If I had the cash that is the first thing I'd do. Just a thought.

:worship: 5.0L CAMMER ENGINE
I thought about it, but man 14k.... I'm thinking about buying a SHM block and building a motor up myself, Id like to come in around 8k.....

Vegas,

Don't even think of trading your car in. In fact, drive it everywhere. Note the design cues and BUILD DATE to everyone who will listen. Then, flash a few pictures of the upcoming GT500, while casually suggesting where SVT/Shelby got their ideas from. Be sure to wink suggestively when explaining this to women. B)

Keep your car .. It's beautiful! Bump the horsepower to 500 and keep the stripes.
The new GT500 will be almost unobtainable .. and if you do get one you will miss the real joy of driving a car you built yourself.

I'm hoping that 14k might drop a bit ... maybe I'm dreaming.
