Question Newbie Tuner Questions

I'm ready to pull the trigger and get a CAI/tuner combo for my 06 GT
Couple of questions:

- What's the best CAI/tuner, I see so many, no idea what to look for?
- I plan to eventually get NOS later, does this affect my CAI/tuner choice?
- Any issues with doing individual mods as finances allow and updating tune?
- How hard is it to actually load the tunes?

- Any gotchas to watch out for?

Thx

+1 for American Muscle. Awesome tunes, very quick turnaround, great customer service, and free tune updates when you install mods that require an update. I have the Ford Racing CAI (Bullitt style) and I'm very happy with it.

I had c&l intake and sct tune from AM. Great system. They are very helpful when you have a problem with quick turn around. Tunes are very easy to upload. I takes about 15 min from email to tuner.

It depends where you are going to get your tunes from. You need to use a hand held that they make tunes for. The most common is SCT and then diablosport. I'd suggesting picking a tuning place that uses SCT since it is the most used and will allow you the most options should you decide to get a tune from a different place.

C&L and JLT are the two post popular cai's. Both are great, as are others that are available. My only suggestion would be to get one that says "requires tune". The ones that say they don't require a tune don't have the larger maf housing and typically don't make as much power.

If you buy both the handheld and the cai as a package you can same some good chedder. American muscle is a good place to look as they give a lifetime free upgrade on their tunes and they brought in a great tuner to do the work.
