This depends on how the cooling vents inside the rotors are angled. I had Ford Racing drilled and slotted rotors on my 2000, and they were labeled the way that Ryan has his. But, as you said, Baer says otherwise. When I called Ford Racing, they said it didn't matter because the cooling vents weren't angled.

So, I recommend that you just call the rotor company.

I thought about this before I mounted them and decided to go with the slots facing the back. They weren't marked as to what direction they should go. There is a theory that when thay angle forward that they will grip better on the pad and when the angle is towards the back, (like mine) it will remove more debris and cool better.

I weighed my Stoptechs and they weigh exactly the same as stock, so no weight lost there. They were zinc coated, but still got a little bit of rust on them where they are not painted and in the holes. I should have painted in the holes with the brake caliper paint, but no big deal.

I did get them off fleabay for $220 where they usually run over $500.

You can see the rust on the unpainted part in this pic, and this was after the first day in the rain. Still happy with them though.

why paint , as it may end up chipping anyways, do holed rotors stay cooler ? why do people use them ? they do look good , I'm not up on much of that other than its a breeze to change.

Out of curiousity, did you get them from Dream car Factory, because thats what I did/price I paid. It was a GREAT deal...that price for front and rear

When I was installing the rotors, the Stoptech's seemed heavier, although I didn't actually weigh them. Also, I thought that mine had the holes painted black, along with the "hub". Oh well, either way they will probably rust eventually.

Hey Boltzman, do you have a name of the paint for rotors? Thanks for the help.

Hey Rich,
Sorry to chime in late. Those rotors look great. You are going to cost me some more money. Your brake upgrade should be in 2 forums the way I see it. Performance for the braking benefit...and in Exterior Mods for the great look. For the money I think this mod is going to move toward the top of my list. Great job.

Yes, I got them from Drean Car Factory, great price too. Mine wieghed the same as stock, but didn't come with the holes painted black. I've got a lot of extra black caliper paint so I could always sand them down a little with the dremel and paint them if I want.

It's weird that I got my money back and you and Ryan didn't. But as they say that is another story.
