New Rims!

Hey everybody! A long time dream came true for me two weeks ago when I took delivery of a new-to-me 2008 Vista Blue Mustang GT convertible. I've been reading these forums for a couple of years (almost cried when the site crashed) and it feels good to finally be able to contribute!

Of course there is a long list of mods I want to make to my new ride and among the first is a new set of rims. I love the look of the Saleen Dan Gurney edition car so I decided to go with those rims. 9" up front and 10" in the rear. I happy to report the rims made it safely to my door today!

They will have to live in their cardboard boxes for a few weeks untill I get the tires. I've decided to go with Firestone WideO Indy Fivehundred 285/35-19 front and rear.

I'd like to thank everyone on the forums here who have contributed and made this the BEST source of Mustang info on the internets! A lot has changed since I bought my 1967 Mustang (used) for $600 when I was in school in 1979!

Welcome to the site and that's a great choice in wheels.

It looks like your GT might be a California Special.

Yep, it's a California special. That doesn't really hold much weight with me though. I removed the black GT/CS stripes. I do like the black & white interior. I've also removed the stock pedestal spoiler and installed a gt500 style spoiler. Lots more to do!

Yeah there's not much left of teh California Special on mine either. Wheels are gone. Rear emblem is replaced. Gotta love the front and rear bumper covers though. That's the best part of the CS.

Your right, I love the rear bumper cover especially. I need to add the lower grill to mine to help protect the radiator. Just another item in a long list! I love it!

By the way, I fell in love with the Raptor and would get one in a second but my old '92 f150 4x4 is still holding up too good to put out to pasture. Which color Raptor did you get?

I went with the Molten Orange. I've had a black truck and a white truck, but I've never had any orange vehicles. It's such an unusual color. It looks red at night, orange in the day, and when the direct sunlight hits it the pearl coat shows up and its amazing.

And my GT/CS before and after

I've got a lot planned for the car! Just got my billit hood pins from American Muscle so I'll be trying to drill holes in my hood! I'll try not to let my hands shake!
Also planned:
Ford Racing handling pack
Ford Racing short throw shifter
billit brushed aluminum fuel door
color-matched side mirror inserts
unknown exhaust mods- car is WAY too quiet!
No engine mods planned for this year

Holy Cow, 2k7gtcs, that is one beautiful Mustang! Love the flat black stripes! And that Raptor is the perfect color. That molten orange or the blue would have been my choice.

07AU2BOT, I've got the pictures you posted of your car on American Muscle saved to my hard drive! Beautiful! I love the rims on your car and came within a gnats eyelash of ordering a set when the Saleen sales guy called me and said they had found a set of the Gurney rims. Have you got lowering springs installed?
