New car, do I need a new tune?

Greetings. I traded my '06 for an '07 last week, and pulled off my CAI and reflashed before I gave it to the dealership. Can I just install my CAI and load the tune on my new car? Or will I need a new tune from Bamachips?

I do believe that the tunes are non-tranferable.

You will have to get a new tune for your new PCM code unless they were the same.

You reflashed your old car to factory tune?
You should be able to use the tuner on your new car.

He can use the tuner, but can't use the tune, unless the two cars have the same calibration code which I don't think is even possible between an '06 and an '07.

07's have a BRAND new series of calibration codes than the 05-06 mustangs. the tuner will work on the car, but the tunes wont!

Ahhhhhh, good to know.

Is this in regards to the particular tuner, or because it's a tune designed for his car in specific?

What about in my case, where I bought an off the shelf CAI and tuner package?
Would that tune then become married to my car after the first use?

It is the calibration code that makes the tunes specific.....

Tuner

I just traded my 06 in for an 07 as well according to Doug at Bamachips it will not work. You have to purchase U7 145 Diablo for the 07. I had just purchased a tune from him 4 months ago for my 06 and that is what he told me. He could not rewrite a tune for my 07 using this tuner.

if you have an SCT tuner though then it will work but i know Diablo is real picky with the years on their tuners. the first time you use your tuner it is married to that vehicle, so you will have to unlock it using the software and then get new tunes for the new car
