New car

The day started at 8 am... way to early for a vacation day. by 9:30 am we had loaded everything into my buddies truck and we were off the a friends shop. 6 hours, a sheet pizza and some wings later... a new car. We did the Steeda UPD's first. Everything went great till I turned the laptop on and found that I should have saved Tacco Bill's threads as a complete webpage instead of a single archive... NO PICTURES!. No internet access at the shop so it was imagination time. The only problem we ran into was it took us a few minutes to figure out how the belt went back on. Next was the FRPP delete plates which were a breeze even without pictures. The only issue was we didn't have a torque wrench that would measure low enough (89 in/lbs I think). Once the plenum was back on we threw the C&L Racer on in only a few minutes. I uploaded Doug's 93 Race tune and checked to see if the car threw any codes and that the belt was routed properly... the car just sounded tougher. The Coast Driveline and Gear DS was pretty straight forward. After expressing my gratitude for the use of the shop, tools and knowledge, it was off to see if my hard earned OT money was spent well.

HOLY CRAP!!!! I know I don't have a twin screw blower strapped on (in the future) but the diffrence is very obvious... and very nice. I smoked the BFG KDW's well into 3rd and can't believe the diffrence in the car from a roll at 40. The car even sounds a little louder and you have to love that little "psst" from the intake when you hit the go pedal. I haven't tried the 93 torque tune yet but I don't have to work till Wednesday night so I have plenty of time.

I must thank Doug for the tune and C&L, CR for the UDP's and drive shaft, D'Agostino Racing for the delete plates and Tug for the use of his shop, tools and wrench time. I have already started planning on how to spend the '08 mod money which can be spent as soon as my truck and college loans are paid off... $11k is 5 months so I get to start spending money in November unless I get boatloads of OT this year like last year. The ARH LT's and O/R H are a lock so it's on to cams, heads and a drag suspension setup. The forged bottom end and blower are the following year... Maybe I'll have to throw a bottle in the trunk to hold me over till then

Just got back from having the BFG KDW's taken off the fanblades and thrown on the DD black bullitts. The 5% tint (slightly illegal in NY), black bullitts, and black car/red stripes look mean. Time to invest in a digital camera

She's dirty because I've been busy. Working OT to have toys means no time to play with the toys. The sun and camera made the stripes look kinda orange but they are a bright red. I even got a "Nice Car!" from some moron in a new civic with a Folgers can and 50 hp in stickers.

I think you will get a "thumbs up " from more than just the ricers.
