With the turbo it looks like you're going to have the quickest 3V Mustang. Sutton Take Notice.

Good luck on your build. I have heard nothing but great things about the engines Al P builds. If we can offer on inside about the 3 valve feel free to call.
I'm sure you will one of the fastest 3v in 2006. We will not be running a 3v in 06, had too much fun this year.

How much do you think you will weigh after adding a steel block, all the turbo stuff and a roll cage? Do you plan to cut the car up to reduce to a racing weight like 3000 to 3200 pounds? Looks like some nice parts.

Blow your motor up and you will be able to afford one rather quickly.

Yeah but the divorce lawyer would get most of it

I appreciate it! Honestly, I'm not gunning for Sutton or anyone else. I just want to run fast and remain streetable. Curious as to the fuel system of all things. Did you run into any walls with your current system? Was the car tapped out due to the fuel. What size turbo were you guys running? I appreciate the help!

It's kindof like having a kid. No one thinks they ever have enough money to have a kid. No matter what, you'll always make it happen! Given, I have a wife that gives me a lot of room for playing. I love her!

Edit: Sutton's car WAS running this combo, who knows when they will give away their new setup info, if I had to guess I would say it is closer to the Steve Angell 4V in an 05 transplant with a supercharger.

their setup would have to change if they plan on running Renegade this year.

We will be running a 4.6 mod motor. Not sure if it will be 3 or 4 v yet.
We were running a JT trim before not a turbo.

When I'm all done, I'll be posting the dyno numbers WITH 1/4 mile times. I've pretty much learned that a dyno graph doesn't mean squat. For me, it's a tool for tuning. If you can't get it down the track, what's the point of having any HP.

Awesome. Can't wait for the turbo and fuel delivery system upgrades...
I don't remember: Did you move your battery to the trunk or do anything else to move weight back? 80# on the block isn't too bad, but once you get the turbo and intercooler up there you probably will be adding more...
Man, it's fun watching someone else spending money! <chuckle> Seriously, this is looking good.

David hasn't moved his battery yet, he keeps crying about it and I keep telling him to ditch it and spend the dough somewhere else. J/K, if he already has it I would do it but probably have someone do it for me.
I got my intercooler, wastegate, and a lot of the piping in today and it is already adding up to some pretty good weight. Enough to catch back up to what we lost.

depends on the size of the intercooler, turbo, etc. they do add some #-age up front...but it kinda gets to the point of do you want a race car or a streetable race car...
if you want a streetable race car, id learn to live with the few extra lbs here and there...and just enjoy the car for what its worth. if you start # pinching before you know it you wont have an interior left in your car ya know? then you will be yelling at the wife to lose a few lbs cus you lost to that cobra by a nose length while she was in the car not good.

And the turbo will of necessity add a bunch of piping up there as well. You should see under the hood of my Buick! <chuckle>
Still I can't wait for David to get this thing together. David, I think you said before, but what exactly is the iron block? Is it something new or something old that's being adapted?

Jeez, you are right though... <chuckle> There is a ricer car near a friend's house that has no passenger seat and only a racing driver's seat. Definitely not a convenient thing for most of us...

It's a Windsor iron block from an earlier model-still a modular. The only modifications needed is a plate to tie in the motor mount brackets 100%. The holes are in not exactly the same for the motor mounts. Other than that, all the other holes match up the same as the stock alum. block. It'll be all going back together real soon. The extra weight isn't going to be a factor for what I'm doing.

Oh David you can be so touchy sometimes....
Im just having fun.... Im quite interested in your motor build up...and like most of the guys here really interested in what you'll run. Not many people claim to have the vast knowledge base in terms of the 3v motor as you do. hahaha then again not many people here have already blown up their car.....
I could not help but hop on into this thread and respond ...but i can see you get upset really quickly...if you have any outstanding issues maybe we can chat about it through a PM instead of discussing it here on the forum. I like this thread and i think i can learn a lot...didnt see a mod badge on ya so i think ill stay

Bro, I'm by all means not mad, upset or bothered by you. I just don't care for any of your instigating input, especially on a thread I started. Can I keep you from here, no. But you do know that you're not welcome. If you do continue to post, it just shows your an instigator. By the way, I've never blown my motor, so you par for your typical knowledge of me.

crack your block...close enough...still goes under a similar category
whos instigating? just answered your question about weight...
hey if you end up doing a power adder its one thing we could have agreed upon right from the get go! it's by far the most bang for your buck...im glad to see you got your senses straight and went for what you have been looking for all along.
i dont mean to start war with you but ive seen it a thousand times. I think you finally are doing the right thing because i could see that this is where you were going and thats all ive been saying all along.... If you wanna seriously drag race then any bolt ons are just a waste of money. For the premium that we are all paying right now for 05 parts a turbo, for the serious racer, is the only way to go. i think you do have valuable input and that your car has potential to be very fast.
Ive been around many performance shops and they all say the same thing as im saying. "if your gonna do it, do it" dont mess around with something your gonna end up removing 2 months later because u want to upgrade....waste of time and money.
congrats on the new set - up.

HEY!!! Who are you? And what have you done with Joe????

hahaha no im a good guy...i think im misunderstood.
all ive said from the get go is that ive seen people like David in Michigan all the time. It's not a bad thing but my first impression of him is that he is not a bolt on guy....i think we have all come to see that. I do wish him the best with his motor....i know it will be fast.
Ive seen friends get screwed over by shops and i just offer advice ...sometimes its not the best and sometimes its not accepted but im just passing on what ive seen so hopefully none of you will have the same thing happen.
Its easy to get tied up in a race to be the fastest and forget what we are all here for ...to enjoy the car..
I have plenty of friends who are so bent on being the fastest that guess what? THE CAR THAT THEY LOVE IS BROKEN IN A SHOP OR THEIR GARAGE!!
Whats the sense in that?
I think we all have something to learn here and we all have different ideas for our cars....
I give credit where credits due and i will definately give kudos to Davids new set-up because he is not wasting money on something that in reality will get him no where.
