New best time!

Mike, I subitted a photo with the timeslip, so I'm sure Galaxy will have it up sooner than later.
I hope you guys get it. Steve (magazine) wouldn't let me attend b/c of the C4. He kept asking me to put the stock tranny back in it, but that would be way too much work to make it happen. That's one helluva ride for me anyways.
I don't know about the nitrous hit. I really want to keep with just the turbo. I'm not ready to rebuild a newly rebuit motor How was the A/C 30lbs. Did he remove the stuff behind the dash as well? The cage will be certified, so I'm not worried about anything.

A/C delete is good for about 27lbs.
Things removed.Compressor,Big condensor in front of radiator, and all the lines under the hood. One thing I liked is the radiator is now wide open without the condensor blocking it.

BIG CONGRATS DAVE!!! I really need to see that car run. (Take me for a ride one day???) Will it be ready for the Ford event at Moroso later this month? Do you remember me saying you were going to go all out on that car and make it full drag all those many months ago? I know that car has LOTS of power but you know how to drive as well. Great job and well done. Now that you have 9's down you going for 8's? 140's, that car must hit like a sledgehammer!!!

Dave I am VERY happy for you - CONGRATS!! That is an awesome acheivement and you are now in a S197 club that has a select few members...lol Hopefully I will be joining you soon...
Mod fords crashed thier hard drive and obviously didn't have it backed up. (not smart) I back up all the hard drives for the servers I host. They are rebuilding it now according to eric.
Let's see those vids soon!!
BTW - you are running a T76mm , right?

when did you do the C4?
how do you like it?
I have been contemplating switching both the V6 and V8 cars to autos, But I am unsure if I want an auto in the V8, it is alot of fun bangin' gears.
what I do not want is a bunch of clutch hassles.

Mike, I love running through the gears, but the C4 is SOOO nice!!! When I got back from Joliet, I went to the C4. I ate up a brand new clutch/flywheel up there and was done with clutch issues...especially the hydraulic situation. I went with a converter from Ultimate converters. The PA tranny I purchased from JPC Racing. We made a crossmember and put in a B&M Bandit shifter. I went with a steel driveshaft for now. Just tucked the clutch pedal under the carpet. I ran out of gear at the 1000' mark with the 4.10's. I've yet to run it out with the 3.55's. I is really nice and not bad around town with the 3.55's. May not be nice on the highway, but I don't know yet. I haven't had it on the highway yet.

yeah ..talked to Eric.. HDD crash. He's at the web host's mercy too...so who knows...
Dave !!! WOW wow WOW !! very nice and very SCARY!! My best was a '69 Fast Back and it ran 10.05's and it was a heck of a RIDE!! I cannot imagine the comfort of an S197 at your speed. I bet you could watch a DVD....
What an accomplishment.. BUT BUT BUT! I gotta tell you.. I am and would remain impressed if you kept the car close to factory form. I am NOT a fan of pulling weight witt the dash gutting and AC delete and the main component stuff that I expect in a ride. In my view it is "impressive" UNTIL you do that ..then it is "expected".
Congratulation!!!

I've finalized on keeping all the dash and A/C components. It was just tempting due to the dash being out. Besides, I'm entertaining the Hot Rod Drag week next year and the A/C would really come in handy!

[quote=FoMoCo;753574]Congrats Dave , that is frikkin awsome, I couldn't fathom going that fast. And to do it in a full funtional street car Will we be seeing you in 5.0 or MMFF?[/quote
Thanks!
The one guy that said he was going to do an article just hasn't got around to it. He's in Ohio so, who knows.
I guess it's true, "if you build it, they will come."
Thanks!

Have you ever run it with the AC on to see how fast it is
"Yeah man, I'll run ya... but you look like you need a bit of help, so I'll leave my AC on" and STILL dust the **** outta them
Sorry its early in the morning...
... Great times !

LOL. The A/C on can create a dangerous situation as it drops water. That's one problem with T&T nights. A lot of people don't realize that and have to be told repeatedly. Aside from that, it's still there and will remain there. I'll be getting the car back tonight or tomorrow a.m. Dash will go back in, a/c and all. Do up some wiring, make a blow through MAF, install the tranny shield and away I go!

nice runs dave!!! i told myself i wasn't going to build another race car after i sold the roadster and dragster last year but i really miss running a fast car(9.99 or quicker) you make me want to gut this thing and go for broke. ****, if only i had kept my trailer and scooter.

a good friend of mine dropped his car by over 300KGs removing all the seats, installing one racing bucket (it's a one seater now) along with all the interior (door panels, sill plates, carpet, headliner, etc)
it's a bit extreme if you ask me, but it's the fasted N/A mustang i've seen.

I've tossed around gutting it...but there's something about running these times with full trim! I got my car back with the 10pt. Schweet!!! Looking at the interior from the door, you can't see the cage at all, unless the window net it up . You can see the bars from the front a bit. I'm debating having the windshield tinted around the border just to hide the bars. Tomorrow, the dash goes back in...with the a/c intact! I currently have the typical looking window net, but am going to order a black mesh one. They look a bit nicer! Now all I need is the pants, gloves, neck brace and then my NHRA license.
