The stock throttle body is twin 55mm, right? So the new bbk would then be twin 62 mm, so you are actually paying 300 bucks for a 14mm increase, not just a 7mm increase.
There is a 21.306% difference in opening area from stock twin 55mm to BBK twin 62 mm.

21% increase seems like quite a bit to me, and they are claiming 8-10hp increase, seems about right, only time will tell......

I spoke with BBK today. The trottle body's "should" be ready to ship in August. As I work for a manufacturer, I realize that release dates are very tentative on a new product. There are a number of hiccups you could encounter. Anyways, due to their distribution network they have, they can't do a direct sale to the end user. The good news is...I spoke with Brothers Performance Warehouse and the fella there said he was sure they could do something with a group buy. They don't have part numbers or pricing in their system yet. He is going to look into it and call me back. Once I hear from him with specifics, I'll post a new thread as a group buy to get the demand.

They are still doing some testing. The majority of the delay is in making their casting's to mass produce them as well as packaging/artwork.

current open area= (pi x 55^2 ) x 2 = 19006.64 mm^2
bbk open area = (pi x 62^2) x 2 = 24152.56 mm^2

bbk area/ current area = 1.271, aka 127.1% as much area = 27.1% increase in area

big diff from 21% at WOT i would think (at least a couple horses)

I spoke with Brother's about the group buy. Brother's in some shape or form is part of BBK. Eric says that he couldn't get any pricing from BBK. BBK is unsure of pricing still. He also said that BBK didn't even have a part number for the throttle body. He says that BBK is working to have it ready for the SEMA show. BBK and Brother's is unsure what it is that RPM outlet is doing. RPM outlet has 600 of these on backorder. Eric told me to call back in Aug/Sept. and he will work with me on a group buy. I also spoke with Accufab. I sent them an email asking if they had one available for the 05. They simply said they don't. So...the wait is on.

The formula is actually Area = pi * radius^2 (radius is 1/2 diameter)
pi * (55/2)^2 * 2 = 4751.66 mm^2
pi * (62/2)^2 * 2 = 6038.14 mm^2

But that doesn't change the percentage...the cross-sectional area is still 27.1% larger!

The other math was incorrectly calculating 4751.66 / 6038.14 = .78694 which indicates that the 55mm is 21.306% smaller than the 62mm...

I doubt a larger throttle body is going to be much help without getting into the heads.
