Anyone know if AccuFab has a throttle body in the works for the '05?

ARGH.......OK fine. If you guys are going to go and force a group buy on me, I will probably be a game pup too.

I'm going to have to quit hanging out here. I swore no more mods for a couple of months. Now look what ya did.

Well here is the response I got..... I'll keep trying, If this is indeed a BBK policy I think they are making a mistake.
If I can find someone that will provide this I'll let you know.

We do try to offer this type of sale when possible, unfortunately, due to manufacturer guidelines, we cannot offer group sales on BBK products. We do offer very competitive pricing and in many cases, free shipping, which still means, a great pricing deal. We do appreciate your interest in our site and thank you for the offering us this opportunity. Please feel free to contact us directly at 281-261-6244 if you need any additional information. Thank you for shopping at RPM Outlet.

That is a bummer. I was hoping to get that bad boy at a discount. Oh well, I guess I'll just go ahead and get it for the full 300.

Just make sure they have it before you order. I called today also ( just out of curiosity ) and they said it would be 3 to 4 weeks. Then I asked if BBK had even released the product yet....hoping that the 3 to 4 weeks was just order and stocking time. He said that it didn't think that they had. Which tells me that the 3 to 4 weeks might very possibly be a guess based on NO merrit.

I just called BBK and talked with one of their sales associates. They said that they have ran this TB without a tune on their test car and not had a single issue. This is truly a bolt on part and no tune is required.
IMHO, if you alrdy have the ability to tune the car, I personally suggest you do so.
And yes, this will be my first performance mod I do to my car.
The majority of CAI kits also claimed that you do not need a tune, and then a few months after they were all on the market several of them now say that you do need a tune. Just by changing the air filter system, thus allowing more air in results in requiring a tune so I would be very surprised to find that I can replace the TB with a larger one and not need a tune.

That response you got was a bummer. If the price was right I would have gotten one, but free shipping does me no good because as soon as I say I am across the border the shipping is back on plus duty....darn duty.

Since this is a 62mm TB anyone know what the stock size is?

Man that response to me seems like something I would say if i didn't have an item in stock. Or at least a good supply of them.

You can make yourself look bad creating an expectation that can't possibly be met. If they had said yes to a group buy, 15 people order 1 (including myself), everyone would be griping because they can't ship what they don't have. That's my take atleast. I'm tempted to call BBK and see what they are willing to do. If you go to their website, they list all of they're distributors. I'm sure any one of them can get this same part. You get some small shop that would love to spit out 15 or so of these at $250-300 a pop. That's good money for a one shot deal.

From 55mm to 62mm.

for $300.....I wanna see what gains you get on a stock and CAI set up. I am thinking not much for only 7mm more.

Well, 55mm to 62mm is about a 25% increase in open area for air to flow through, I'd say thats a prety good jump. I would like to see dyno comparisons also, with and without a CAI and a tune. Any volunteers?

The stock throttle body is twin 55mm, right? So the new bbk would then be twin 62 mm, so you are actually paying 300 bucks for a 14mm increase, not just a 7mm increase.
