Need help installing fuel Rail adapter with Kenne Bell S/C

Hey guys,

As most of you may already know, there is no place to access the factory fuel system on the 05 Mustangs. At least i cant find a spot. I went out and bought the Motoblue Fuel Rail Adapter to put in between the fuel rail and the FPS so i can hoo kup a fuel pressure gauge. My main problem here is this combination sits too high for the Kenne Bell Blower as there is a vacuum hose right next to the FPS. With the motoblue adapter in place the FPS now sits directly next to the Vacuum hose barb and actually rests against it. If i leave the hose on, i cant bolt down the FPS and adapter to the fuel rail. If i remove the hose i can sort of bolt it down but then i cant get the vacuum hose back on. Any suggestions?

Hey 'bird, what did you end up doing for this? I have the Motoblue adaptor coming but I have a similar problem as yours because I have the CDC shaker assembly.

I'm sure he did the same as most of us and just grinded down part of the Autometer bracket, use an adapter and it installs just as it's supposed to. Other guys have tapped directly into the Fuel Rail, but with a little grinding, it's a perfect fit. Do a search over on MF, and look for Josh@PMP and Don_w's posts. They took good pictures showing where to grind it down.

I Still haven't seen a Shaker in person, but you should be able to take off the shaker "box" and tap into the fuel rail just as it's intended. How much clearance is there between the Shaker and the fuel sendor?

You should have let me know Tom. I gave mine away for free to our MF buddy vynle. Free shipping too!

Actually it turns out the Adapter plate that comes in the KB kit DOES have a shrader valve to screw in a fuel pressure sensor. however it is the wrong size. Autometer makes an adapter to make it the right size but due to the nature of the plate, it doesnt fit in. i took a grider to the KB plate and grinded the area away till it fit.

exactly. the shaker box thin will jsut lift off if its not screwed down. if it is there are 2 screws i beleive that goto the top of the throttle body that do hold it down. undo those and lift off.

That's my problem- there is not much space at all between the top of the fuel regulator and the underside of the shaker kit. I think that the Motoblue adaptor is a couple inches tall, which likely then won't fit under the shaker.

Just for future reference for anyone installing a fuel pressure gauge with CDC shaker hood kit:

Using the Motoblue fuel rail adaptor will NOT clear the shaker assembly. The adaptor is roughly 1" tall and by installing this on top of the fuel rail, it will NOT allow the CDC shaker kit to sit flush and therefore it will not bolt down.

As of right now, I'm not sure if I'm going to try a different way of accessing the factory fuel rails or if I'm going to cut a hole in the shaker setup to gain the needed room. Bummer.........

I'm checking on other options........ I hate to cut a hole, it would be right on the driver's side "Roush" plate:
