When I turn the ignition on,the car is making a real loud whineing sound. it sounds like it's coming from under the hood. Even after the car is running it still continues to make this sound.Anyone have a idea of what it might be? It just started doing this,very reasently.like two to three days ago. I'm wondering if it's some kind of alarm on the car and it is trying to tell me that something isn't right.

 

Is it comming from the supercharger?

 

-Mileage?
-Mods?
-Besides "under the hood", can you pinpoint more of where it's coming from?

 

Could it be your starter staying engaged?

 

I basically hear it when I turn the key on the ignition, the sound is hard to discibe. its not the supercharger. I kinda think it might be something to do with the fuel pump.A loud hum sound. then when I crank the car, it's still there, the supercharger still has it own whistling sound,Its just that the other sound doesn't stop when I crank the car. It hasn't made this sound before. I'm going to make a sound video of it tomarrow,and try to post it. All my Auto Meter gages work and the DPSS shift light works ,but now I have got to get rid of this whineing noise.
I know there has to be someone on TMS that can help me figure out what is wrong. Please? The Diablo predator has a dianostic program on it ,will it dianose this kind of problem?

Mileage is just a little over 8,000 miles. mods are Vortech supercharger w/charger cooler ,diablo prediator tune,dyno fine tune @ 455.6 rwhp. custom side exsisting exhaust. other than that the engine is stock.
I raised the hood and found out where the sound is coming from, it's from the pump on the cooler,located behind the front bumper cover. should the pump be making that loud of a noise? It wasn't doing it earlier.anyone know?

 

I don't think everybody'ss on right now but I now someone has to know something. How long has the vortech been on? Is it the stock fuel pump making noise or does the vortech kit come with new fuel pumps? Or what kind of pump are you talking about?

 

I figured it's not the fuel pumps it's the charge cooler water pump. Vortech is still very new. just had dyno fine tuned about two weeks ago. this has just started to making the noise, I'm going to take the front bumper cover off tomarrow and see if there might be a kink in the hose to the pump. But the pump is making the loud noise i've been hearing. I'm going to call the Vortech tech line tomarrow ,but they might be closed till after New Years ,I just don't know. I'm going to email my contact at Vortech also. I know he'll get technical on the ball to help me out. He has always been there when I need him.

 

Hopefully it's nothing big and it's a quick fix, but for sure keep us updated.

 

Thanks for the concern? Vortech is closed until November 2nd. The supercharger is so new ,I can't remember it making this noise before. I know Vortech will take care of it ,when they re-open on November 2nd. But maybe I can do something with it before then. hopefully ,it's just a pinched hose or something.

 

Hey James it's not really on the topic of this thread but I have another question for you . For the tune that comes with the intercooled vortech kit how many psi's does that run at? thank's Adam

 

It comes with the Diablo predator tune and the Vortech is set at 10lbs psi.
