I did take it out for some burn outs..... BTW I did contact doug at bama and he offered his help if I did not pass this time.

I was not looking forward to ripping out the headers and running factory tune just to pass. I kept thinking this is not the PRK, this is NC. Shhhhhhhhhhhsss.

But all is well and I passed. Now off to wilminton NC for a car show on the 21st. of October.

Gratz on passing!!!

Good thing you don't live in the People's Republic of California, you'd still be struggling.

Traffic, what did you do to make it pass? My NCSI is due in Nov, and I am running a Bama 93 Perf tune with JTL CAI. Ya think I will need to install the stock airbox and tune a few days before I go the inspection? I have never disconnected the battery.

Thumbs up

I removed the JLT, installed the stock airbox and tune. Drove the car for 2 weeks and had it NC safety inspected today. It passed fine. I am so looking forward to going back to the JLT and 93 octane performance tune!

It's all in the owners manual. Page 224?

Readiness for Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) testing
In some localities, it may be a legal requirement to pass an I/M test of the on-board diagnostics system. If your indicator is on, refer to the description in the Warning lights and chimes section of the Instrument Cluster chapter. Your vehicle may not pass the I/M test with the indicator on.

If the vehicle’s powertrain system or its battery has just been serviced, the on-board diagnostics system is reset to a “not ready for I/M test” condition. To ready the on-board diagnostics system for I/M testing, a minimum of 30 minutes of city and highway driving is necessary as described below:

First, at least 10 minutes of driving on an expressway or highway.

Next, at least 20 minutes driving in stop-and-go, city-type traffic with at least four idle periods.

Allow the vehicle to sit for at least eight hours without starting the engine. Then, start the engine and complete the above driving cycle. The engine must warm up to its normal operating temperature. Once started, do not turn off the engine until the above driving cycle is complete.
