My Whipple install.. Start to End, in pictures (56k warning!)

The reason, I believe, the driver's side spews a significant amount of oil back into the intake is because the lack of a PCV valve which is essentially a one-way check valve. This hose is under engine vacuum at all times and draws oil-laden air into the intake all the time. As for the passenger side, there is no issue with oil. I have two in-line separators on this 3/8" hose and after ~2,000 miles, it has not collected any oil.
As long as we're on the subject, try a simple experiment. There is an issue with the driver's side 5/8" hose collapsing. With the engine at full operating temperature and at idle, examine this hose. I've heard many other's say it collapses so I checked this and even on a new section of hose (provided in the Whipple kit), mine was also cavitated! I reinforced mine with a section of 1/2" aluminum pipe inserted into the 5/8" hose. It no longer cavitates.

I wonder what happened to the killer front radiator section Whpple used to flaunt before the production article came out. What I see in this photo group is one about 1/2 to 1/3 from what they used to show / advertise?

awesome write up! makes me want to dump my entire tax return, take out a pension loan and order one of those bad boys. then again i think of food, heat, air condition, water and electricty (i just gotta hve my mustang source!) and i hesitate. still, it pushes me to save a little bit hereand there ahd hopefully one day have my own.
again, awesome write up and congrats

Which one is this one?

Just recall the prototye installation they used to have on their web site looked (IMO) to have a thicker radiator. These don't look as thick. It may be that after they completed all their development testing for Ford it was decided a smaller one was good enough. Bigger is better, but it does cost more money, and there may also be a point of diminishing returns.

They did a fantastic job on the hood! Looks Perfect!

That is purely a function on how heavy your foot is, or another way ... how hard you push it and for how long. The more time you spend at max power, the less life the supercharged or blown engine will have. For cruise life there should be no significant degragation in service life becuase there is no boost, because the throttle body is limiting the amount of air it can take in.

As long as you don't go nuts with the PSI i.e. not changing the pulley, and making sure it has a good tune and good fuel delivery it should last quite a while.
Biggest concerns is a too-lean condition or too much PSI over-stressing the rods.

i only had issues with my hood, with the SC pulley and air intake port not clearing the hood.
those with the stock GT hood shouldn't have a problem, although many reported having to remove the hood liner cuz it was touching the pulley too.

Well, you could probably do a complete GT500 conversion (Body + Performance) for less than the actual GT500 MSRP (let alone the insane markups)
For me it really wasn't about the money.
i was ordering GT500 parts before the actual car was launched
all in all, i wanted mine to look better and go faster.
cheaper wasn't really a realistic goal for me especially since i had to ship all the parts half way across the globe, and labour rates here aren't exactly reasonable down here!

Nothing yet Paul.
Whipple said they haven't had any complaints yet with their kit for the S197 yet. although my symptoms are exactly identical to those with the PPRV problems on 03-04 stangs.. they're still researching the problem..
i'm frankly getting fed up waiting for a solution, and starting to dislike my car :'(

The smallest pulley Whipple sells for it is 2.625" in size, for 16PSI boost.
i guess 16PSI would put you somewhere at 550rwhp, although i've seen someone run 531rwhp on the 10PSI pulley with agressive timing (the supplied whipple tune is VERY conservative)
