My tach needle is 200 RPM too high
When the car is turned off the tach needle shows 200 RPMs. When it's at idle it shows 1050 but I know the car is running at 850 RPM because I have the tuner hooked up and monitoring the RPMs. I thought disconnecting the battery and resetting the ECU would make it default back to zero but no luck. I also tried flashing back to stock tune and no dice. Anyone else have this problem or know a solution?
You could take the cluster out and remove/re-install the needles. Not really that elegant, but if it's doing that with the stock tune as well, it sounds like it would need to be manually adjusted. It just pops right off, then you can start the car with the cluster hooked up but not installed, and place the needle right where your tuner says it should be. Probably take you a total of 15-20 minutes.
