My JBA Header Install

Just ordered the titanium ceramic JBA Longtubes and they should be coming in tomorrow or the next day. With that being said I am planning on doing the install myself. I want to make sure that I have all the right tools to get this thing done. So does anyone have a checklist of tools i will need for a longtube headers install?
THANKS!

You'll need a good set of 1/4 and 3/8 Metric deep and shallow socket set. I use a long 3/8 extension to get the top bolt of the starter (coming in pass the steering rack). Metric ratching box-end wrenches is a must. Blue locktite, maybe some penatrating spray depending on ur car mileage. Hint.... put the car on stands, loosen the motor mounts and jack the motor for more room.

Good luck!

A lift would be the best tool.

Get the car as high off the ground as you can. You will need to disconnect the steering shaft but this is easily done with common hand tools.
Also remove the battery and the tray. This will make the passenger side instalation a LOT easier.

I have heard in many threads about the battery tray removal to get to the Pass Side O2 Sensor. The steering linkage and motor mount removal on the other hand...I am still a little tentative to do that myself. Any tips for disconnecting the steering likage and jacking up the motor?

Take a look at that thread I sent you via PM about my ARH LT header install. There is a pic or 2 talking about the steering linkage. It wasn't that tuff. And loosening the motor mounts is easier than it sounds.

Also in that "Journal" there is a pic of a ratcheting box-end, swivel head wrench. I actually got the 1/2" which was a hair more snug than the 13mm.

Good luck!

Jizabel, do you know if the catted system should come with O2 Sensor extensions? Also, did you buy the motor mounts that JBA recommends?

I bought them from a guy whose friend bought them, but moved so he didnt want to bring them with him to his place. They are the titanium ceramic LT's. Bough them for 900 pluss 66 shipping. That includes the catted H-Pipe. Great Deal

I bought my JBA LT's off ebay brand new for 500 shipped, but it was just the headers no hardware or gaskets. I reused the stock gaskets because thier of better quality.
I'm not sure about the O2 exts, I got the OR pipe and my rear sensors arn't even turned on so mine are are not hooked up, just the front. I had to buy a pair separate for the front sensors, only need one for pass side.
No iam using the stock mounts. I got the CHE k-member brace with limiters so my mounts are getting the full abuse from a launch. Which is a awesome MOD for 140$

Anyone know where I can get a set of O2 Extensions for my JBA Headers? Any other extra things that I need to buy? Should I buy the motor mounts?

I put a sturdy block of wood, like a piece of a 2x4, on the floor jack cup and placed it on the front of the oil pan where there are 2 bolts (on each side) on the corner where it attaches to the block. Sorry, I don't think I have a pic.

Hi all, just wondering, those with the JBA LT setup with the catted H, how many O2 Sensor Extensions did you need to buy?
