My experience with the Motive Power Bleeder kit

I was the guinea pig whith JedCranium's Power Bleeder when I installed my front BBK. Mine also leaked like a siv all over the place. Like Gary mentioned, the key is to only use one of those gaskets, then all was good to go.
I sprayed a good amount of Purple Power and flushed the area with water. Last time I looked at the firewall and under the master cylinder, all was good, no paint damage.

Yes I remember that event, what we found out is Motive packs two gasket a thick one and a thin one. It's hard to see unless you look real close. The thick gasket is the one you want to use. Your right they don't explains the to gaskets and we also thought the other one was a spare NOT!
Lesson learned! Not sure why your unit is still leaking, maybe they send two thin gaskets? To much PSI , maybe the unit is jacked? Sorry to hear you went through that experience.

Just saw this thread as Scruffy brought it back from the dead.
Had the exact same experience with the Motive cap, said screw it, I also have the speedbleeders so got by without it, but unhappy I'd bought it. Wasn't looking forward to bleeding in the future though (even avoided it for the last track day, and it did fine.
Now I know what to do! Thanks guys!

I have used my Motive bleeder on my older Mustang with good results, but SpeedBleeders seem ever simpler.

They do make a 'paint' substance that goes on the threads if that orange stuff wears off. Haven't had mine long enough to know one way or the other, but I'd imagine after a while the ball inside would stop sealing so well.

Sorry if this is rezing an old thread but i would like to update that Motive now makes a kit somewhat for the 2005+ Mustang. The new kit is SKU-0118
