If & when you ever get pulled over:
Put on your blinker or flashers.
Roll down window
Turn off car
Put both of your hands on the steering wheel till he speaks to you.
If it is for speeding & he was hidden I always complement him on his hiding spot & his apprehension. I salute him when I say that. If he laughs your off the hook.
If not & you have a get out of jail card now is the time to show it.
If you are going to BS him it better be good.

I'm traveling with my bride of 26 years. She's sweet.
But I bet if we put on cowboy hats & spurs we can have a naughty time.

Thanks for hooking madhouse up. I see your in CT. We'll have to meet at the Marcus Dairy in the spring for cruise nights.
The car under load sounds a lot better then just the stationary rev's. I plain on tapping a microphone to the rear bumper. lap top in trunk, & taking the PONY XPRESS for a heck ride. Maybe vid & mix.
Did this in high school for my film making class way back when. Used a cassette recorder in the trunk (they were high tech back then, killed the 8 track) mic on bumper, buddy with 8 mm holding on for dear life. About 12 cars total in film all muscle. Teacher was a car guy, so easy "A". I may still have that film stashed in the archives. Got to look. [/b][/quote]
No problem, Yeah I do go to Marcus, I am 25 mins away, southbury, how about you.

Ridgefield, about 10 minutes. I would love to see your car and of course HEAR your car, I thought it sounded great and appearance wise it looks awesome...I would definately consider this...also seems cost effective!

See my original post mufflers delete for pics. Nothing special. Just custom pipes OE size into the tips. The tips do have a 3" inlet.

My understanding is if you meet 95db your legal. I'm pushing that number.

Somehow you have a quote that I did not post?
Anyway once it gets warmer we should meet at Marcus. I know one of the owners, nice people.

I've done that to both the Mustangs I've owned.... the first was my '88 GT, and the second was my '98 GT... both sounded great and it cost me less than $50 each time. never had a problem with the cops, and it was not illegal in any state I drove it in. The mufflers don't do squat for emissions and it's not any louder than Flowmasters.... just a different exhaust note. I'd really look into it, and check you sources.... people might say it's illegal when it really isn't. They may be assuming, so check the statutes yourself. I wouldn't trust a muffler shop to be straight with that answer, 'cause that's opertunity cost for them.... they'd be losing the business to sell you the mufflers.... so, yeah... do your homework and if you can get away with it.... it's a helluva lot cheaper than any other exhaust mod you can do. However... I wouldn't sugest doing it with an off-road H (X) -pipe, or perhaps even with high-flow cats.... you might lose enough back pressure to actually hurt your performace, and/or damage the valves.

I wouldn't consider any other mods to the system & having it streetable.

I was very pleased that the mod did not produce popping. Under load the car really sounds sweet & if you back off at high revs it is a nice deep growl as the car slows down.

I was always pleased with the results when I cut out my mufflers. I'd just hate to see people do it, and then do other mods to the exhaust that just might not play well with other exhaust mods.... know what I mean?

Sounds real good. I might buy some tubing, tips, and some mandrel bends and build one myself when my car arrives. Can you provide me a link or brand of the tips you used?

Thanks Jason
Find enclosed link to original post. Part #'s in first post. Pics on second page.
Was at a costumers shop today & 10 of his employees surrounded my car. When I fired it up they couldn't believe how good it sounded. They all seemed to agree that it has an old school sound. Did a hole shot for them & they freaked.

took your advise and had my company build me one too.Since i work for an exhaust company I have little perks when it comes to doing custom stuff so I had the fabrication boys make me a kit that eliminated the mufflers and I installed the Banks eliminator kit (thought it was a catchy name), and at any time I can re-install the factory pipes and mufflers if I need to take it into the dealer or go on a long trip whatever. All I can say is WOW!..It literally scared my 5 & 2 year old when I brought it home and fired it up.Re-clamp everything behind the cats near the h-pipe and at the axles and we rigged some extra hangers on the kit so I can change everything over in my driveway in about an hour!

I wonder how this would sound with an X-pipe? Sounds sweet with the H-pipe in any event.
Gotta give it the real test... Back it up to the house and let it idle. If it shakes the house its all right.
My old 5.0 used to do that with off-road pipe and flows.
