MSD Tach Driver Install on '06 GT Coupe

I am having a very rough time trying to figure out how to install this MSD tach driver (PN 8913) in my '06 S197, because I do not want to cut the wrong wire. I have tons of documentation telling me to "Connect the red wire to the main 'coil positive' wire from the coil harness." I have all the wiring scams for this, but nothing tells me which wire is the coil positive, or where it is! I special ordered the tach driver from MSD, so I am stuck with it, but I am ready to box the tach back up and head back to the parts store. It would have been nice if they'd have advertised the fact that one had to jump through hoops of fire over shark infested waters in order to install this **** thing in an S197.

Any help would be mightily appreciated,

Jim

I have a Ford Racing Tach adapter. It T-taps into the crankshaft position sensor wire. No cutting. Works great.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, they look identical except for branding, actually. Same with the Autometer version. In fact, the Autometer instructions are identical to the MSD instructions word for word... even the illustrations are identical.

If you don't mind, how did you tap into the crank sensor without cutting?

Thanks again,

Jim
