Mods= no bottom end

So I have the following:
Hooker long tubes
Bassani off road x
Magnaflow axle back
Steeda cmdp
Jlt cai
Sct bama 93 race tune

And a gt500 tb but I have not put it on yet

And this car is extreamly weak on the bottom end.... I have 3:55 gears.... I don't want 4:10s due to wanting to road race this car....

Any ideas on why it's sluggish down low?

Only thing I can think of is the CMDPs reduce low end power I think. You might talk to the bama guys about it and see if they can write you a new tune for better low end? I'd bet its the tune more than anything. Also might look into 3.73... I've got them and it makes a huge difference in how the car pulls from under 3000 rpm compared to stock rear end.

Maybe all those mods added too much weight!!! YUK YUK!!!

Seriously, I always felt my 4.6 had a tad more low low end than the new Coyote - all that changes dramatically at about 2k, though. I'm presuming (never assume) that's your ride in your avatar and you're rollin' with the 4.6. When you say *extremely* weak, you mean you can't break the tires with the TC off? Doesn't seem right.

Ok to clarify.... She walks through 3rd gear but it just does not seem as quick as it should b down low.... And I don't see the point in 3:73 over 3:55 can't justify the price to swap gears for such a small difference...

You'd be surprised the difference 3.73 make, really. But like I said, my guess is the tune more than anything else. And new tunes from Bama are free, so I'd start there. Explain to them the problem you're having.

I've only ran 4;10s in all my stangs.... But I was more in to 1/4 mile.... Bama sent me 3 tunes:
93 street
93 performance
93 race

Guess I could try the performance and see what that does, I'll call em too

I'll check back w y'all, thanks for the help

From what I understand the Street, Performance, and Race tunes differ in how early it adjusts to add power. With the Street it's all in the high end, performance starts earlier, and Race is the whole band. When I switched CAIs I went from using the Performance tune to the Race tune in my daily driver and I never went back. I really noticed in parking lot driving where low rpms would normally make it want to stall, it instead had enough to power through instead of having to constantly engage the clutch then slip it.

I think if you're having issues with the race tune low end switching to perf or street would just make the problem worse but it cant hurt to try.

I have the same concerns with my delete plates and I have 4.10s. Will probably pull them out until I can swing the cash for a dyno tune.

I think you've got the right idea, but have the tunes mixed around. Per AM's website, the street tune is specifically for adding power in the low to mid rpm range. So I'd definitely switch to the street tune in this situation and see if there are any improvements.

Yea I have not got around to doing it just yet... I don't see it helping tho....

Off topic:
Got my doors blown off my a new zo6 lol I jumped a car length from a 45 punch in second, but as I was hitting 3rd he flew past me sideways as if he was going 100 mpg .... Wtf **** you Chevy !!! :-)

Back to topic:
When I'm at a stop sign and start to drive again the rpms drop insanely low.... Guess this is due to no torque right?

the udp's will make the rpm's drop at idle . I'm wondering if your lack of back pressure is what is making your low end suffer. Waiting to hear what changinhg your tune will do for you.

Texasboneking on here said back pressure is a myth... I've never heard that... So what's the fix if it's a back pressure problem?

The h or x in the midpipe creates a bit of back pressure but the catalytic converters creates the bigger portion.
