modification advice
I want to make two modifications to my GT/CS over the winter. First is the cold air kit. I would like to know which air kit is best to use and if you need to reflash or not. Second mod is to lower with coil springs. I have heard good things about Ebach pro kit progressive spring coils. How will this affect handling and acceleration? Thank you for any advice.

I have the GMS CAI and it says it does not have to be tuned, however, I would suggest that you get a dyno check just to make sure it is ok. I had mine tuned and it is easy to go back to stock if need be. I am happy with it.
Not so sure about the suspension.

Check out WWW.Brenspeed.com They have several different brands and you can call them up and they will talk to you about what they have tried and different combinations. The are great guys.
I went with a mac straight shot CAI. If you want to make power you will want a retune. most CAI kits out there will require a retune as you will run lean without a tune. my kit cost me $145 and I love it.
Eibach pro kit is great. You will want an adjustable panhard bar for the rear end to correct the suspension geometry and bring the rear end back to center.
The ride quality is a little rougher with the pro kit but it corners more aggressively and has a more positive driver feedback.

I been searching on the net for some of these different brands of CAI and a came across this one by BBK for 269.99 at american muscle 30 min install and no reflash needed it looks nice under the hood and customer feeded back was great said they notice throttle responds different immedially and installation was a breeze..Has anyone used this brand without doing retune and were you satisfied with results.also they have free shipping if you seen better price let me know...Thanks for all the above feed back keep it coming I want to make the right performance decisions before I buy.Thank you
I have the BBk cai and I like it very much. The quality is outstanding and it doesn't need a tune but the tune is where you get most of the results you are looking for. I bought the kit from Breenspeed and it dropped my 1/4 mile time a full 1/2 second with the SCT 2 93 oct tune.
my brenspeed tuned CAI is on its way (i ordered the steeda one which is the same as the ford racing on iirc).
as for tunes - if you oly get it to get rid of the throttle lag - i have been told thats worth it. i will surely report back next weekend once mine is installed.

I think I will go with the jlt and a tuner when its time for me.
I have the pro springs and like them alot. If you go with the pro springs you will need more than just springs

I've ordered the Ford CAI -- if it's installed before delivery -- you get the full warranty. after Warranty - you can re-tune if you want for a more aggressive tune.
I'm looking at the Steeda Ultra-Lite springs -- less lowering and supposedly a better ride.
I'm also considering changing shocks -- does anyone have any thoughts on that?
What would you suggest for best ride / nvh / improved handling.

Mike I think the stock struts and shocks will work great with the ultra lites. Try it for a while and see how you like it. Also find some place that does a life time front end algnment, So if you want to change out things later you won't have to worry about it.
If I put a CAI on my stang and I want a custom tune do I have to buy the Tuner frist or can I go to a shop and just get A custom tune? Not sure how this works. Also glenn you said if I go with the pro springs I will need more then just the springs what else will I need ? Thanks

you probably should do the tune/cai combo at the same time. though some of the CAI's say that you can do it without having a tune, some dyno results have shown that this is not the case and the car runs dangerously lean. i am sure some have had results to the contrary - but i would err on the side of caution.
as for the ford cai - iirc, this is made by steeda.. and i think is a few bucks cheaper than the ford unit (plus you can get the higher flow elbow with the steeda one which fits both). i will be installing my steeda unit from brenspeed soon.
