I've got an '05 N/A Saleen S281. I'm looking to add some power without adding a supercharger. What would you suggest that I add and what kind of hp gains would I be getting? What do you think? Tune? Headers? Give me your thoughts.

Thanks,
Tim

1) tune- Brenspeed does wonders
2) cold air induction kit- JLT, C&L are both great choices
3) rear end gears will make an immediate difference in the driving experience

Exhaust won't get you much more power unless you do full long tube headers and matching midpipe.

A lot of guys/gals start out with a CAI/Tune from Brenspeed or Bamachips because it is the best bang-for-the-buck mod. I ordered my FRPP Stingers first because I liked the sound more than the power for soem reason. I eventually got around to CAI/Tune, and JBA Longtube headers which were a GREAT addition I must say.

Yeah, right now it's lookin like tune and headers are the way to go, the car already has K&N intake and exhaust so i'm tryin to avoid replacing anything it's already got done to it.

Is your K&N your factory saleen filter? if it is nix it for a full on cold air like the C&L racer, the reason I say this is I've had both and the is definitely a difference. The next thing I would do is exhaust. I have long tubes and a hi-flow cated h-pipe, with this setup and stock mufflers my torque increase from stock was quite noticeable. Although I installed slp loudmouths and my low end dropped, but it sounds so awesome I cant bring my self to change the combination. My alternative is to install 4.10's which is scheduled for later this week and the end of next month I should be holing some frpp "hot rod cams" in my hands ready to install.

Cai and tune. Longtube headers and hi flow or off road mid pipes and a set of mufflers. If go with 3.73 gears and a mgw short shifter.
