What about 5W-30 in mobil 1? Is it better for our cars, Less breakdown?

Oh yeah, and I run Mobil 1 10W-30 full synthetic since 5000 miles.
I recall reading another post where 5w30 is not recommended and was also told by the service manager not to use it. I guess someone has been using it in an 05 GT that was purchased at the same dealership and he now has a knocking noise that they can't figure out.

I just ordered my Amsoil 5W-20 for the 'Stang and my 2004 F-150. Been running it in the truck for over 25K miles now and can't report any noticeable differences, but the less frequent oil changes sure are nice.
