George, historically your pictures never do the thing justice. It is based on this fact alone that I will be ordering one. It will be a tossup though between yours and grabberpony.com's Grabber Orange ball. I may swap them out according to my mood.

The MGW shifter was installed without a hitch in my PJ yesterday. Used a very short throw setting and moved the shifter as close to the driver as possible and an inch higher than the original.
Had only one problem but it had nothing to do with the shifter. Whoever loctited the PJ shift **** on the shaft wanted it never to come off. Took us about 40 minutes to get if off trying a variety of methods.
The MGW is a must mod at least of a PJ, shifting up or down is now crisp, fast and a pleasure. A+ to MGW.

George , I really like that race handle in the second link for 1995's. Are you going to make one like that for us or a handle for our shifter that has the 1.75mm threads so we can use that one ...

I had the same problem with the shift **** shaft spinning, did the same thing, messed around with the **** itself for a while until I figured out it was the shaft. I do have it aligned correctly, and I tightened the bolts down really tight, but after a couple months it's just starting to come loose again. I'll torque the bolts down again, this time with a 3' bar.

I'd try some blue Loctite.

I couldn't get it torqued down enough with the Allen wrench, so I made a makeshift breaker bar with a deep socket and an extension. I fitted the deep socket on the Allen wrench and torqued both bolts down. The end of the block is practically touching now. Raced with it last weekend and hasn't buged.

George...

I was going to wait for a picture of the new shaft, but curiosity is getting the best of me...

Two questions... is the new MGW ball going to be in black only and is the new shaft just a change to 12mm X 1.75 threads...

I was hoping it was going to be a flat handle.

hi
I got my MGW shifter installed last week. 8 turns out. I love the shift - springs are fine, throw is great, position is good. Only issue I'm having is quite a loud rattle from the shifter while accelerating fairly hard in the 3-5k rpm range (rest of the time it's silent). I've read through this whole long thread and don't think anyone else reported this issue - which is good, I assume maybe I just need to check something. It's all installed properly tight, far as I know.

any suggestions George, or others?
thanks
Daz

Check your brake handle. George posted a video a few pages back on how to get rid of it. I tried and it didn't work, but it's because the plastic piece of the handle isn't coming back together well. I gotta figure that out...it's driving me nuts.
