Meziere E-water pump install??

I tried to search for a Meziere water pump install but I could not find one. Is there one here on this forum someone can point me to?

I did this install and perhaps I can help alittle. As I remember the old pump can out with a big gush of coolant pretty easy. The new pump is a very tight fit and uses metric allen headed bolts, I don't remember what size. Also to get to the bolts to tighten them down you need the type of allen wrenchs that have a ball on the long end. I brought a set at Lowe's (Kobolt brand). Also be careful of routing the small 2 wire connection. I got mine to close to the belt and it started to cut though. There is a pre wire electrical kit made also. You just mount and plug in, find a ground and run the postive to a keyed on source in the fuse box in the passenger side foot well so you can just turn the key on and cool your engine without the engine running. Hope this helps alittle.

Hey Darrell get that blower yet? Mines going to Brenspeed on Monday for a Paxton intercooler and 3.33 pulley.

You can also try pm'ing 70MACH1OWNER (Scott) for more info on the E h2o pump.

Hey Mot250,
Looks like Drew beat me to it. I have been running my Meziere pump for close to 2 years with no problems. I am also running Steeda underdrive pullies. If you do that you will have to get a shorter belt. 99 inch I think. If you need further assistance just give us a yell. BTW, put a tarp on the floor when you pull the stock pump out. Even after you drain the radiator there must be 1/2 gal behind the pump that is going to make a mess when you pull it out so get ready for it.
Scott

Hey Tom...glad to hear your finally getting your intercooler. Any more word about a fall dyno day at Brenspeeds?

Your right Scott. It requires a 99" belt.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I have the included instructions with the kit and I got the extra wiring kit to go with it. I do like the idea of running the pump with the engine off for the track!

Anyone else with pictures during the install?

Which fuse box did you tap into? The one next to the computer in the engine bay or did you go into the cabin (I assume that is what was meant by passenger side foot well?)?

I used the one next to the computer. If your going to use it with the engine off, I heard it will drain the batt. So be carfull how long you have it on. Are you putting a toggle switch to controll it under the hood or from the drivers seat?

I pulled power for my pump from the rear of the SJB on the passenger side in the engine bay. I used a "T" tap and pulled power from a keyed switched fuse. I can't remember what number the fuse was without looking but it was at the rear of the box.

I think I just want to use an accessory-on line like keyed from the ignition switch. I'd just want to be able to run it a little after/before a run down the ol' 1320.

Hey, how about a clarifiation on belt size? I have Steeda UDP which, of coarse, I now have no use for the Steeda water pump pulley. Brenspeed's website suggested a belt 1 inch shorter than stock when used with the Steda UD Crank pulley and the stock belt is 102 1/8th inches. Some of you suggested 99 inches. Will 101 1/8th be too long?

you can try it if they make one. I just got the 99" and works fine. You do need to make sure you have enough tention on the belt to keep everything running and no belt slip when you turn on say the A/C or when turning a corner. you don't want the powerstearing pump to slip..

NAPA's pretty helpfull! All I told them was I needed a belt for a 2006 Mustang GT (stock is listed as 102 1/8th) but shorter by 1 inch. He was puzzled until I explained what I was doing. They looked up the length and brought me one. Unfortunately, I went with only 1 inch shorter (101 1/8th) and that is a shade too long still for the E-pump and Steeda UD Crank pulley. The tensioner just about bottoms out before the belt is tight. So I'll take that one back and get one yet a little shorter.

Still have to run the wires yet as well. It's good to have a second vehicle to drive...

Thats handy I get parts at cost+15% since my father-in-law used to own a napa shop/store. I can just have him get me 1 I'll go with either 99" as recommended by travelers or a 100 1/8" dropping 2 inches off of the belt.

NAPA didn't carry a 100 1/8th so I tried the 100 1/4, still too long. I guess I'll try a 99 like 70mach1owner, travelers and others had said. 100 1/8 didn't bottom out the tensioner but it traveled slightly farther than stock belt before the Mez e-pump. I marked the locating of the tensioner before I took it apart.

As I understand it if your not bottoming out you should be fine. If I'm wrong someone will let us know but if you can tension the belt without bottoming out the tensioner you shouldnt need another belt.

Just remember though these belts will stretch over time. So if it is close I would still go with the 99 " belt. It really comes out almost like the stock belt as far as the tensioner position.
