I was wondering where you guys shift at the track or on the street to extract the maximum performance out of the car. I read a thread a while back that when stock you should shift at 5400 rpms after 1st gear. I now have a Diablosport Predator and was shifting at 6000 rpms. Last night, I did a quick highway run starting in second and winding out third all the wall to the fuel cut. I was shifting at 6500 rpms and the car seems to pull very hard. Is that the right RPM to shift at? A dyno would answer my question, but I haven't done so yet. When I raced my buddies 350Z I was shifting early, so I want a rematch

Shift as high as you can without hitting the fuel cut off. Due to your gearing you'll never be producing the torque in the next higher gear than you're currently pulling pre-shift, so shifting as late as you can is the way to go.

I didn't know this until i searched the web and found some articles on drag racing, shifting, and torque.
