magna flow exaust

Just installed Magna Flow Cat back system today Part #15883. I could not get them centered because the wiring from the gas tank is to close to the driver side exaust pipe. You think Magna Flow would have allowed for the wiring and bent the pipe a little to clear the wire. Anyone got a easy fix without bending the pipe? Also not enough wire to move them out of the way. But they sure sound **** good.

Cool

Don't you just love it when you have to re-engineer your car to make an aftermarket part fit? Magnaflow makes quality exhaust though, so that surprises me a little that they didn't plan for that wire clearance. Hopefully there is an easy fix out there.

ya lost me. I had the magnaflow cat back on my car and had no issues. I also just sold it to a member on this board and he had no issues either. I am not sure how a wire could be in the way, considering that would also mean they were in the way with the stock mufflers. Also, that part number you posted is for the magnapaks, and those mufflers are a lot smaller than the factory ones. Do you have pics to show where the wires are in the way?

The stock exaust pipe's have a bigger arch on them where they go over the axle. Just follow the wire harness that comes out of the gas tank and you will see where the wire is hooked to the frame. You have to have 1/2 inch clearance between the pipes and the wire harness. I'm not the only one to have this problem on the Magna Flow site they have customer comments and there are some people that have the same problem. ///sorry no pic's. The part # is a more aggresive sounding muffler but the same exaust pipes as the 15881 or 15882 not sure which is right the 81's or 82's.
