LT Headers and Catted H-Pipe

My dad was at a local performance shop that works on mustangs and alot of other cars.He talked to someone and the guy said that we shouldn't go with LT headers cause they will make the exhaust raspy even with an h-pipe. Is this true or do LT's keep the deep sound of the h-pipe when installed?

(If that link doesn't work go here and read post #5)

Listen to that...The owner ended up changing up the exhaust because it was way to raspy for his tastes. Personally I think it was just the Flows paired with the O/R Mid because on the new stangs they sound very metallic and Raspy.

Would A/T Flows, LT Headers, and a h-pipe with high flow cats sound raspy?

IMO, i think its the mufflers making it sound raspy. I know this will spark an argument, but its just my observation.

LTs in no may make the exhaust raspy... ever, it will def deepin, the mufflers are the source of it being raspy. Can't go wrong with LTs

But do you think flowmaster a/t's with ARH LT's and a ARH Catted H-Pipe will sound deep?

I think you should be alright with a catted H.... I'm thinking the OR H is where you start running into raspyiness with the flows..

If you had the ARH LT's with catted H pipe when they come out with Flowmaster AT's they would be PERFECT. Not too raspy...

I don't know what they were talking about. It's choice of muffler. The LT's being responsible is false. They help richen the tone, and make it deeper.

Thanks for the explanation Tillmanspeed. I would be confused on what setup to go with if you didn't tell me that.

No problem. Let me know and I can either find or create sound clips for you if you'd like! Thanks brother! You know the number if you have any questions, regardless if we're selling you something or not!

Well the video I would like to see is Flowmaster A/T's with 1 5/8" ARH LT's and Catted H-pipe vs. Flowmaster A/T's with 1 5/8" ARH LT's and Catted X-Pipe.

I can provide that for you when the H pipe model is done.

I would go with 1 3/4" if you plan on doing a blower down the road. It's like an extra 25-30 dollars, on a 1400 dollar pair of headers. It's worth it in the end!

I'll probably have access to a car with this setup we can swap the X for the H and take videos of both. This will be in a few weeks.

Also to let you guys know, here is the place that my dad went to:Fastlane Automotive, Inc. | www.powerstrokes.com I wonder if any of you guys have heard of this place before.

Another cool thing is that they built the world's fastest mustang(its a S197 Mustang GT ). And they have a twin turbo S197 Mustang Project Car. They have a twin turbo kit that makes 450rwhp on 7psi too. I think that the worlds fastest mustang is in the March issue of MM&FF or 5.0 Mustangs & Super Fords but I am not sure which.

I went with 3:73's even though I have a manual cause it sees only street driving and maybe occasional drag racing in the future. Also I might get it dynoed with a before and after of the pulley and gear install. If I do get dynoed I will start a thread containing my numbers.
