Question Which lowering springs have smooth ride?

Looking to finally put a set of lowering springs on my car.
I would like to end up w/ the same ride quality as stock.
I don't want a stiffer ride.

Which springs give the most "stock like" ride?
Also don't want to lower it more than approx 1".

if you lower the car, the ride quality will suffer, that's just reality. your best bet is to get the adjustable tokico d-spec shocks to go along with whatever springs you choose. maybe the frpp kit would be best since you don't want to lower it that much.

i have the eibach pro kit and love it.

Something to look for is to make sure you get progressive rate springs, not linear rate.

Progressive rate springs are soft initially, then stiffen up as you compress them. This lets the springs soak up smaller bumps, but provide firmness when you really need it.

Linear rate springs have the same firmness throughout the spring travel. This is considered better for racing, because it provides more direct feedback to the driver, but ride quality suffers.

Steeda Ultralites-not low enough that you HAVE to replace the shocks, panhard bar is still fine as-is. Smooth ride, still handles better then stock. There will be about 100 ultralite chime in's in a little bit I'm sure.

FRPP/Eibach kit is one of the lowest drops.

I'd say leave it as is. You know how bad these roads are here in the HR, and I'm 99% sure they will become worse once you drop the car.

The ride will suffer once you lower it. Based on what you want though i would suggest the Steeda Ultra Lites and some Tokico D-Spec that way you can tune the ride to how you like.

If you lower it, there is a host of other mods that should be done at the same time so as to not screw up the roll center, dive under braking, squat under accel, bumpsteer, etc, etc, namely LCA relocation brackets (to prevent excessive squat under accel), Adjustable UCA (to reset the pinion angle), front control arm relocation (to reset roll center), bumpsteer kit, (to prevent the geometry from changing as the front tires go over a bump), and camber plates/bolts, (to reset camber). It can get expensive.

I love mine but My Azz is off now,so I DO need an adjustable bar and needed camber bolts as well and a front end alignment

i have ultralights, d specs, new locknuts for my front swaybar & steeda adj panhard bar. did not need any camber bolts. my alignment was dead on. it has been a major improvement on the car.

How much do you want to lower it? The more it's lowered, the less suspension travel you'll have and the sooner the suspension will hit the bumpstops,which will cause a rough ride.

I just lowered mine in the rear to level it out.

Not if you trim the bumpstops to match the amount of drop. I myself ordered new Eibach bumpstops the ones they put in with the Sportline springs. And also adding Reclocation brackets helps a lot.

When you lower your ride quality will suffer. I use Steeda Ultralite springs and Steeda Pro Action dampers and my ride is only a bit harsher than factory.

lowered mine 1.3 in front and 1.4 in the rear. Eibach pro springs. You should most deffently get shocks and struts if your going to drop it that much. I didn't and I feel my stock struts and springs can not handle it, lots of noise. I just put my stock springs back on the front and the noise is gone.
The drop with the pro springs looks awsome imo.

after more thought I think even if your going to do a one inch drop you should go with shocks and struts matched to the springs.
Has any one tried springs off of a shelby gt they are about a one inch drop all the way around .... I think??
I think at this point I want a 1.5 drop in the rear and about 1 inch in front.
The eibach pros IMO are just a tad to much drop in the front for my likings.

I also found one of my sway bar end links a little lose when I changed my front springs out today. It was the end that bolts to the strut.
I changed my springs out only because I am taking it in for the strut bearing noise. Most people that look at my car think it sits perfectly with the pro springs.

You make it sound like his filling will rattle out of his teeth. The Steeda Sport springs with Tokico D-Specs gives the car a firmer ride, but it isn't unbearable. The guy at the alignment shop commented on how smooth the ride was compared to some of the earlier cars he had worked on.

Granatelli sells dropped spindles for the stangs now. a bit pricey but stock ride

How would one answer this without having tried several different sets?
Not sure anyone here has done that.
