I know this is going to probably be a stupid question......but I would like to lower the rear of my stang 1".....what would happen if I installed the Steeda lowering springs (rear only)...would the handling/ride be completly destroyed

Just take off your rear springs and cut exactly one coil off the top of them. That's what I did on the rear springs only, and it dropped it exactly 3/4" in the rear which leveled the car. The rear is actually about a sixteenth of an inch lower than the front now. I wouldn't lower the rear an inch... it'll ride with the front end up a bit highter and will look odd. But save the money on the springs and cut a coil off the rear springs.

Hotlap .. check out this thread. Some forum members cut their own springs. I followed Acadian's post and cut just the rear. Lowered appx. 3/4" rear only.
Very simple and cheap mod with pefect results .. no ill effects!

Bradley, no issues at all. I can't even feel in difference in the ride. It's very subtle... just about 3/4" drop. It just levels out the car so it sits just right, IMO. But when I am driving now, it feels the same as before I did it. And I did this probably 2 months ago. Absolutely no issues at all.
