I just installed the Loudmouth on my convertible last week and I love it. With the top down it is louder but not by much. I actually prefer to drive with the top down just so I can hear it.

BORLA.... very aggressive with a classic deep throaty muscle car growl. Pricey but worth it

I think the loudmouths may be too loud for a vert. You can't roll the windows up and tune it out. I don't mind hearing the exhaust when I excellerate but I don't want to hear it (as much) on the freeway at 2400rpm.

Perhaps flowmasters or similar would be better.

If you go with Flowmaster, send me a PM, I'll give you the info to get the kit for a very good price!

Flowmasters, had them for a week and a half now, sound great and are getting louder as they break in, after resetting the computer, I def feel a power increase with the exhaust! I've gotten lots of thumbs up for the exhaust sound by motorists and neighbors. The tips look fantastic!! Paid $245 for the kit...

The neighbors like it ROFL>>you are one of the lucky ones..

I love my Bassani's. I have high flow cats, x-pipe and axle back and it sounds amazing. If you go with just the axle back it should still sound good and it looks great with the 4" rolled stainless tips.

Anyone,

What is the best price you've seen on the Flowmaster Axle-Back System? Best I can find so far is $289.00 plus $30.00 for shipping:

LMperformance.com - Flowmaster

Also - has anyone installed the JBA Axle Back? If so how do you like them?...

LMperformance - JBA

thanks!

That's a great price. I have a local Muffler shop that is going to give me an install price of $300.00. (I write checks better than I turn a wrench.) I heard a GT he just did and it sounded great.

I am going to pay extra for some good looking tips. I don't want to get anything that looks like a riced out fart cannon.

Any Suggestions?

PS I can't afford Borla or Bassani. I spent too much for the Cragar SS and paint.

Two words:

Coffin Muffler.

This thing made my V6 sound like a GT. My goal was for my '05 to grumble and growl like the classic stang from Bullitt (I'm sure I'm not alone here). Mission accomplished!

Wow! A muffler that adds two cylinders to your engine! Sounds like a great deal to me!

Well, the 05 GT I heard with the Magnapack sounded very very similar to my Shelby

deep aggressive rumble-

Magnapacks will give you a big block rumble-

I know you're joking (and understandably so, I know how some of you guys feel about V6 "posers"), but seriously, don't knock the Coffin! I can't tell you how many motorheads I've had outright assume my stang is a GT when I rev it a few times. Granted, these aren't real hardcore Mustang fans, but they're still people who know their way around cars.

...and I'm sure the dual Coffins on the GT would sound twice as good! ;-)

I'm gonna wait till I hear a few up front. Besides, I just ordered my SS ducktail. Impulsive buying is such a horrible habit!!
