Is there a newer long tube header that might be cheaper than $700.00?

Hasn't some done a knock-off of a high end design yet?

You get what you pay for. Too cheap and you will be tightening them all the time and blowing gaskets. Plus sometimes fit and finish suffer.

I was going to get the Hooker set up last week, until I learned that I could get the JBA set up for less. Maverick gave me a number for an Atlanta based distributor, I gave them a call and the headers were about 530, however the x-pipe that goes with it is about 280 and I was not about to pay that 810 would have been the total for that. So I got what I wanted, which was JBA longtubes silver ceramic coated for 699 and a o/h from blackhat for 100 and that set up was 799, it came out cheaper and I got what I wanted. The JBA o/h is going for 199.

The best part is, the install is only gonna set me back 466, which is cheap for this job.

I just called Barnett Performance and they said they did not have JBA headers. Is there anyone special to talk to there?

Is there performance/sound differences with the hookers and JBA's?

I have a brenspeed o/r H....couldnt that be cut so it would fit either of those two LT's?

From what I have been reading and hearing, JBA's are suppose to be the best out there bar none. I believe they are thicker than the Hookers. Mine will be here in two days.

I met up with blackhat97 on Saturday and he had his installed, with cats. I am going to be running no cats. His car sounded unbelieveable. I was very impressed. Very loud and deep.

That's a stretch IMO... I can name at least 3 brands I would consider better than JBA.

Don, which ones? Everyone is just so heavily publicising these headers, it's hard to get a different opinion on another product.

For my money, I would buy Stainless Works, Kooks, or Dynatechs (and probably Hooker) before I would buy JBA's. But, that is just my opinion... to each his own.

Hookers would be fine with me...right price and fun name whats not to like

But I was wondering is the power gains between the different brands all about the same (within 5 hp)...as well as the sound? Different axelbacks sound different just wondering if headers are the same. I want an H or a prochamber attached to whatever LT's would go on and I would imagin my o/r H can be made to fit as well as a prochamer...right?

I agree the Stainless, Kooks, and Dynatechs are better, but watch the Hookers . 5/16" flanges as opposed to 3/8" for the rest. Thicker flanges, less change for warping/leaks down the road IMHO.

I agree on the flange thickness... I included Hooker as a "probably" based on the cost savings compared to JBA.

The other thing people need to remember is the primary tube size. The 1.75" primaries are probably not the best choice for a NA motor.
