Richard, you can launch "fast" without launching "hard" i.e; your clutch engaging and at the same time your throttle coming down. Bout at the same rate. Double check your rear tire pressures and make sure the surface on the street isn't your problem. If these things don't help, the upper control arm will stop the windup in the springs. Good luck!

Just keep your foot on the clutch and let it out quickly. It's not having your foot on the clutch at all when it's let out that makes it bad. Realistically, you know there will be more wear and tear letting the clutch out that fast regardless of side stepping or popping it. I would entertain a upper third link. It will help put the tires to the ashalt better. I installed one, not for wheel hop, but to help the car squat better...and it does.

anyone suggest BMR? I do like the looks of their LCA's (although I can't speak to their performance)

1. I get wheel hop and craziness with TC on OR off.

2. Happens on any surface road.

3. If I feather the clutch/throttle...and don't full on DROP it.....I still get a little bit of shudder/wheel hop.

I can't do a full burnout launch.

Does this make sense? I feel like I might not be explaining what is going on.

Steeda billet LCAs got rid of 70-80% of my wheel hop. More diappeared since lowering. In fact I haven't noticed any recently; none at the track last week. I also had a flat repaired about 2 weeks ago...maybe they adjusted the tire pressures for me?

I don't have the stock tires but if you open your driver's door you will see Ford's tire sticker indicating they recommend 32psi, front & rear.

I think I understand, the car's too busy playing hippity hop to stay still and give you a good even burnout.

I have purchased the Steeda LCA's, they are not installed yet. I have not experiance the wheel hop thing yet...I did my first burnout yesterday, launched it at 4k, it went right to the rev limiter much quicker than I thought, banged second, again right to the rev limiter...I did not feel or hear anything resembling wheel hop, I am trying to determine if I even need the LCA's , Can some tell me how to produce the wheel hop so I can determine to sell or keep the LCA's. If I had my choice, I would rather not have them because I dont want to increase noise or comprimise the ride. I purchased the Steeda street/ race LCA'sand am running 32 psi in the stock tires.

how much gas do you have in the back? if your running a near empty tank you can bounce like crazy...the 3rd link will help a ton from bmr...that will stop wind up

Thanks Joe, but I have since fixed this problem. I didn't have my LCA's tightened all the way.

to get wheel hop-

rev it up to 4-5k. Let the clutch out all the way and floor the gas. I guarentee your rear end will be bouncing arround. My BMR LCA's have not increased interior noice at all. I love them...and work well.

lowers didnt help me at all, the upper stopped all wheel hop, after i broke the lower control arm and had to put the stockers back on, i still didnt have wheel hop, i believe the upper is the culprit, and not the lowers

I did this last night and got NO wheel hop at all, very smooth, but I just let the clutch out fast, I did NOT side step it...I let let out at 4k

that would make sense...the upper being the culprit...if you think about it its logical...although the stock lca's are pretty wimpy.

I am glad to hear those bmr's are working out for ya....they look awsome

I just received a set of BMR LCA's. Did anyone use silcone grease with these? Is regular grease good enough?
