large or small blower
large or small blower
if the main reason to by a blower is the low end torque would you be better off with the bigger voloumn version of a kenny bell or the smaller?i dont care for peak horse power but i want good power from 2000 rpm to about 4500.i like a good 50 mph to 100 blast everyonce and awhile instead of a standing start blast.
If you want the low end stoplight tire burning torque, then Whipple, Kenne Bell or Saleen, if your looking to get more umph in the mid range you could go with a centrifical such as Vortech, Paxton or Procharger

And I'm not even sure KB is still selling the 2.4L blowers... but I don't know for sure. I have heard that the 2.6L version is a tad bit "laggier" than the 2.4L, but how the increased volume effects midrange power, I'm not sure.
like I posted on ModFords.... the smaller displacement Blowers, like the old 2.2l KB are much better at 8 or 10psi than the huge 2.6l one they have now. The larger displacement blowers are designed to handle much larger boost loads. However, the difference is still really freaking small.... nothing too much to worry about.
Really tough to say because KB and Whipple, to the best of my knowledge, do not post compressor maps. But, Lysholm (which is Whipple) does so you can at least compare their smaller 1600AX to the larger 2300AX and 3300AX. The way I read their maps it looks like, for the typical airflows (600 to 800 cfm)and boosts (8 to 12 psi) we work with, the larger S/C has better AE and uses slightly less HP than the smaller one.
