Mustang=loud ... SLP or no SLP. Windows up ,radio on, not too noticeable. If nothing else you could put dynamat or something similar down to dampen to sound.

Dynamat for exhaust sound? I don't see how that could help, really...Unless I'm missing something. I dynamatted an area of my trunk that was rattling from my Alpine system, but I've never heard of dynamatting for exhausts..

You use it on floorboards under the carpet and it helps dampen from road noise.

I've put back the stock exhaust and the SLP LM is in it's box.

I'll first try to get a refund and if that doesn't work I'll try to sell to one you guys here. I've already received a few requests.

I just installed the SLP Loudmouths last night. First impression... they are loud! Not TOO loud though. I think they sound awesome. Paired up with my Bassani off-road x-pipe, that should be here any day now, I will be scaring women and small children in no time.

As far as looks go, I couldn't be more happy with the tips. They look awesome, and I like the fact that you can adjust how much they stick out. I may go back and make them stick out a little more. Here's a pic I took on my lunch break...

I thought you were selling your car to build a house?

From the looks of the qouted post it seems you are still modding away.

Is the car still for sale?

I had ordered the SLP Loudmouths, as well as the Bassani x-pipe, before the storm hit. They are finally getting here. I had already promised a member of TMS my Magnaflows for $200, so I had to put on the SLP's. If I can sell my off-road h-pipe, I'll put on the Bassani x-pipe. If I do sell my car, it won't be for a month or more. And I'd like to enjoy it as long as I can.

Also... and I posted this in a few other threads... thanks to the state government and FEMA, I came across a bit of money. That, along with me getting side jobs building fences damaged in Katrina, may allow me to keep my car afterall. The raffle could still happen though, since it's going to be tough to keep the car while building the house... but I'm not in a rush to sell her like I was before.

"Geezzz...wife thinks mine is too loud too, but her response was: your car do with it what you want. "

Thats what my mom says to my dad about his car. Lol. He is currently putting in a full 2005 Mustang LX interior into his 90 GT. It looks killer so far.

Do the SLP's drone at highway speeds? I want a beefy exhaust. I don't want droning.

Ok, after driving the car yesterday and today I have changed my mind about my h-pipe with the gutted cats. I believe, due to the backpressure built up in the hollow cat "cans", it is making the exhaust sound really rough. I am also experiencing a lot of drone now... but I'm positive that it's the h-pipe and not the SLP's. I never really knew what drone was until now, but it was there before I installed the SLP's. I just could barely hear it because the Magnaflows were muffling it. The SLP's let it all out. So, what I am going to do is cut the cats off and have some 2.5" straight pipe welded in their place. Then I'll have an off-road h-pipe and that should take care of the problem. I should be doing this within the next week, and I'll post a "real" review on the SLP's then.
