Just installed C&L CAI+ brenspeed tune - holy &*%#$

Am I crazy?

I just got my C&L (street) and 87 Octane flash (brenspeed) installed today.... and holy $hit.

My 06 GT (AUTO) just about *leapt* from the pavement when I put my foot on the gas. Im sure this has some nice improvements for manual transmission drivers, but for my automatic- its literaly like a different car..... Im almost embarrassed to admit that at first i thought something was wrong- the car really jumped! I dont think Im exagerating to say I have to drive this car differently now.... Funny thing is- with the changes to the shifting of the AUTO- I dont know that I could match its performance manually (even if I wanted to try).

Its almost the same feeling I had when test driving a V6- then a GT. Dramatic.

I had heard good things- but this was shocking..... oh- and the sound? It scared my wife.....she was standing in the garage when I fired it up (hood up). She said it sounded like a wild animal..... hmmm- I like that. My neighbor actually looked up (from his lawnmower!) when I finally pulled away from the curb.... wow....

Anyways- once I burn off this tank of 87 (wont take long!) - Im anxious to try the other tunes- though I hardly beleive they could be better.

Yup- same here. I'd like to get an idea of what exactly they've changed (without giving away the 'secret formula').

The throttle is definitely more sensitive and the transmission (which was nice right out of the factory) feels a lot firmer.

Same here with tunes from Bamachips (thanks again Doug). I could not believe how much power the car was holding back from the factory. Chirps tires now in second gear. And that's with a K&N Cai!

I felt the same with my tune from Brenspeed! It is a very different car with so little mods.

Wait until you try the 93! When I was informed mine shipped from Brenspeed, I started filling up with 93 to prepare for it.

Ditto...Unbefreakinleavable!

When I finally got to a drag strip that was not closed for flooding 10 days later, I dropped nearly a full 1/4 second in the 1/4 mile and picked up a little over 1.5 mph. There is more left if I could further minimize spinning the tires but I'm pretty happy with the resulting 13.439 seconds at 104.95 mph...

Im having trouble taking off without launching forward.... almost need to take it back a bit..... ****.... impressive.

If I was a Ford salesguy I'd have propsective buyers test-drive my flashed GT- they'd buy in a second.... I wonder if it has the same big increase for the V6-ers?

What I did was drive around on the 87 until I was below the 20miles to go mark, then I put in a quarter tank of 93 and drove that down, then I filled it up. Sounds a little dramatic, but I wanted to be safe. After that, I flashed it to the 93 Torque tune, and just about wet my pants.

If you go from 87 performance to 93 performance, you wont notice much difference until you floor it. The big difference comes in with the 93 Torque tune, because it makes the car act different. From the second you step on it the car just wants to launch like mad, but it eases up past 4k rpm

I didnt- but then again- it would seem hard for it to be more dramatic than the inital upgrade....
